고교생인 하루카(遙)는 어릴 때 돌아가신 어머니의 유품인 거울이 자기도 모르는 새 사라진 사실을 깨닫는다. 어릴 때 자주 놀러갔던 신사(神社)에 꼭 찾게 해달라고 빌러 가는데 버려진 장난감을 실어나르는 이상한 '여우'를 목격한다. 그 여우를 쫓던 중 숲속에서 물 웅덩이를 발견한 하루카는 거기에 손을 넣었다가 순식간에 '홋타라케 섬(ホッタラケの島)'으로 오고 만다. 그곳에서 오래 전 자신이 애지중지했던 봉제 인형 '코튼(コットン)'을 만난 하루카는 여우로 보이는 섬 주민 테오(テオ)까지 끌어들여 거울 찾기에 나선다. 그런데 얼마 후 인간이 들어와서는 안 되는 '홋타라케 섬'을 통치하는 남작이 하루카의 존재를 눈치채게 되는데…. 하루카는 거울을 찾을 수 있을까? 그리고 이 불가사의한 세계에서 현실로 돌아올 수 있을까?

Two Japanese survivors of the Khmer Rouge massacres in Cambodia vow to find a sanctuary, even if they have to build it themselves. Returning to Japan, they take seemingly opposite paths: one becomes a politician, the other a gangster. As Asami and Houjou work through the linked worlds of politics and crime in modern Japan, they don't hesitate to do anything necessary to secure their own positions and stay true to their vow. Professor Gill has created a machine that lets him restore destroyed robots. This machine is used to recreate all of the destructroids that had been destroyed by Kikaider. Kikaider is forced to destroy them all once again, and a new Destructoid Multi-Colored Sand Lizard.
