Lisa Welch was born on November 11, 1960 in Aberdeen, Maryland. Welch was an Army brat who moved from place to place throughout her childhood before her family eventually settled in San Francisco, California. She graduated early from high school and studied fashion retailing at the University of Marin. Lisa was the Playmate of the Month in the September, 1980 issue of "Playboy". Following her stint as a Playmate, Welch embarked on a brief acting career: she had a small part as a vestal virgin in History of the World: Part I (1981), portrayed stuck-up sorority girl "Suzy" in the hit comedy, Revenge of the Nerds (1984), made a guest appearance on the Matt Houston (1982) episode, The Centerfold Murders (1983), and had another minor part in the straight-to-video erotic thriller, Night Fire (1994).

컴퓨터에 있어서는 거의 천재적인 능력을 지니고 있는 루이스(Lewis: 로버트 캐러딘 분)와 뛰어난 두뇌를 가지고 있는 길버트(Gilbert: 안소니 에드워즈 분)는 아담스 대학(Adams College)에 입학, 신입생이 된다. 그리운 부모님과 사랑스런 가정을 떠나 기숙사에 정착한 이들은 상급생 풋볼팀 알파베타(Alpha Betas) 클럽의 기숙사 난동으로 인해 방을 빼앗기고 학교 체육관에서 기거하게 된다. 하지만 그대로 생활할 수는 없는 일. 루이스와 길버트는 몇몇 뜻맞는 친구들과 힘을 합해 허름한 건물을 임대하여 그들과의 새로운 공간을 만든다. 그러나 상급생들의 계속되는 장난에 도저히 해결할 수 없음을 깨닫고 루이스 팀은 공격을 개시한다. 먼저 상급생들이 사귀는 여학생들의 기숙사로 쳐들어가 곳곳에 비밀 카메라를 설치하고 그들의 행동을 낱낱이 공개한다. 또한 상급생들 몰래 그들의 탈의실을 습격, 그들의 옷을 전부 수거하기도 하고 그들의 애인을 유혹하기도 한다. 마침내 램다 램다 램다(Lambda Lambda Lambda) 클럽에 들어 알파베타의 집행부 위원회를 장악한다.
