Inspired by a true story, the film presents a TV reporter's journalistic investigation into alleged American "flying prisons" in Romania. Through a combination of circumstances, following a mysterious File 631, Dinu (Iosif Paștina) discovers a leak from a NATO base in Romania. The news event stirs, provokes, tempts various media, top politicians, services, both internal and external, causing both hilarious and absurd dramas in a black comedy. The journalistic endeavour of the "newly" turned investigative reporter is a tough, not easy, test to preserve his professional dignity, but also his character, noting the duplicity, the moral volatility, the lack of measure of a world that relentlessly continues its course.

In Bucharest on a winter’s morning, a couple make love. Adina wants to move in with her boyfriend Radu as soon as possible. He, on the other hand, is slightly more reluctant but appears to simply tolerate her plans. Today is New Year’s Eve and Radu and Adina have a lot to do: the two have planned a visit to Adina’s parents followed by a party with friends. While buying last-minute gifts at the supermarket, Radu thinks he spots ex-girlfriend Nadja, who he has never forgotten. In one small moment, Radu’s insecurities about Adina come bubbling to the surface. No sooner have the corks begin to pop, the relationship comes to an abrupt end. This is followed by the perfectly timed offer from Radu’s friend Alex to hit the town with him and his friends. Radu accepts the offer in the hope that Nadja is also out. Director Paul Negogescu draws a portrait of Radu with precision and subtle irony – and captures the atmosphere of a New Year’s evening with great authenticity.

The personal story of the young student Felix Goldschmidt, who finds himself arrested for a crime he does not understand, like his fellow prisoners, he believes at first that he the victim of a mistake. But Red Gloves is also a political story, describing how a totalitarian state imposes itself by fear, rooting out individuals almost randomly and demanding their submission. By cutting back to scenes from the old life of Felix, the author manages to achieve balance and contrast with the suffocating atmosphere of the prison. We are shown our hero as an idealistic young man, searching for love and fulfillment.

루마니아의 카르파티아 산맥에 위치한 지우 밸리에서 한 광산촌 노동자가 의문사한다. 국립수사국 소속인 검시관 드미트루 코스타(라즈밴 바실레슈)에게 처음 맡겨진 일은 바로 그 시체를 부검하는 것이다. 사체는 장기간 폐쇄조치됐던 탄광에서 발견됐고 며칠 후 또 다른 두 명의 노동자들이 거기서 사망한다. 코스타는 그 죽음들에 대해 의문을 제기하지만 상부에는 음침한 기운이 감돈다. 광산촌의 경영자들은 광부들 사이에서 소요가 일어날까 노심초사하고, 정부의 고위관료들은 은근슬쩍 사건을 은폐하려 애쓴다. 그리고 코스타는 협박전화를 받는다. 이에 코스타의 애인도 주춤하게 되지만, 오직 코스타만이 사건을 포기하지 않는다. 부패해가는 공산당 조직이 광산 안에 한 테러범을 가둬놓고 광산 노동자들의 사회를 분열시키고자 했던 것이다. 루마니아 작가 라스반 포페스큐의 소설에서 모티브를 얻은 는 한 탄광에서 있었던 실화를 바탕으로 하고 있다. 하지만 정부와 미디어는 사건을 중요하게 다루지 않았고 실제로 그 사건은 쉽게 망각됐다. 뤼시앙 핀틸리의 목표는 바로 그 박제화된 기억을 일깨우는 것이다. 그가 언제나 영화를 통해 질문하는 것은 바로 국가권력의 부조리한 미스테리다. 영화 속에서 코스타는 그토록 찾아 헤맸던 사건의 실체에 다가서지만, 살기 위해서 입을 다물어야 했음을 뒤늦게 깨닫게 된다. 그렇게 영화는 루마니아의 차우체스쿠 처형 이후, 집단적인 권력의 병폐에 도전한다. The story takes place early in the 20th century in Eastern Romania, where a famous outlaw lived kind of a Clyde with many Bonnies legend in the landscape of the Danube Delta.

Depicts Romania during World War II, focusing on the Royal Coup that toppled Ion Antonescu, the Axis-allied Conducător and authoritarian Prime Minister. Focused around the August 23rd 1944 coup against Marshal Antonescu, the movie also tackles other topics from the same era such as the Iron Guard rebellion and the execution of political leaders by communists.
