A boy from a wealthy family is always socializing with the wrong group of friends. He is very mischief and always involved in gang fights. One day he met a girl and falls in love with her. The girl, Azura, later changed the boy's character and he became a good and well mannered boy. He proposed to Azura but thier marriage was objected by his parents because Azura comes from a poor family. Despite of his parents objection, he marries Azura and leaves behind all his family's wealth. He works as a laborer to support Azura. Everything was perfect until one day Azura is found to be pregnant. Her husband suspects that the baby she is carrying does'nt belong to him. Misunderstanding then arise between them...

Darus runs for his life when his wealthy and ambitious uncle tries to marry him off to Zarinah, the daughter of a bank manager. He refuses to wed the girl because he already has a sweetheart. Darus also knows that the old man, who had been his guardian since he was young, needs to borrow money from the banker to finance an abandoned housing project. Darus' disappearance worries his uncle greatly. When he comes across Darus' 'double', the crafty old man decides to pass him off as his nephew.

Meanwhile, the rich man's daughter who had just gotten married was the biological child of the wild girl's mother, who was a prostitute. The two were exchanged when their newborns were in the hospital. This melodrama is the first film in the Malaysia-Indonesia joint venture 'Bayi' Trilogy, before BAYI TABUNG (1988) and DIA BUKAN BAYIKU (1988). It is the first film under a special project, FILEM USAHASAMA MALAYSIA-INDONESIA initiative of FINAS (Malaysia) and P. T. Perfin (Indonesia) which started in the mid-1980s to the early 1990s-an effort that has produced a number of films of various genres. This project was born out of the failure of the Film Exchange Scheme project between FINAS and P. T. Perfin to screen Malaysian films in Indonesia.
