Vincent is a 17-year old ecologist who drives his family crazy with his attempts to reduce their carbon footprint. Vincent‘s giddy French aunt Nikki takes him on a trip to France, convinced that the boy‘s obsession is related to his suffocating mother. But on their road-trip, Vincent proves to be much more than Nikki can handle.

Johnny climbs down from the cabin. He is infuriated by the dent in his front bumper and yells at Matty. Although impressed by the accident, Matty fights back with sharp words. Their discussion turns into a row, and the police have to intervene. Matty goes home, the trunk of her car dancing up and down. Back in her apartment, Matty takes a hot bath to recover from the afternoon’s emotionswhen the phone rings. It’s Johnny, apologizing for his behaviour on the parking lot. Matty tells him to stay out of her life. A dramatic comedy begins about a woman whose soul is full of dents and bruises.

메린신부의 젊은 시절에 초첨을 맞춘 작품으로 의 최초 시작지점의 이전을 다룬 폴 슈레이더 감독 버전의 영화. 애초에 폴 슈레이더 감독이 감독을 맡아 제작하였으나 완성된 영화에 만족하지 못한 제작사에 의해 해임당했다. 이후 레니 할린 감독이 영입되어 재촬영 및 재편집을 거친 후 "엑소시스트 : 더 비기닝"으로 2004년 정식 개봉되었다. 그러나 슈레이더는 언론 등을 통한 계속적인 탄원 끝에 영화제를 통해 자신의 초기 버전을 공개하였고, 결국 2005년 5월 소규모로 개봉되었다.
