조 펜들톤(Joe Pendleton / Bruce Farnsworth / Ralph Murdoch: 로버트 몽고메리 분)은 비행기 조종과 색소폰 연주를 즐기는 낭만적인 프로권투 선수다. 어느날 그는 뉴욕에서의 훈련을 마치고 비행을 하던 중 뜻하지 않은 사고를 당해 하늘나라로 가게 된다. 하지만 신참 천국의 사도의 실수로 예정된 시간보다 50년 일찍 불려온 것임이 밝혀지면서 다시 땅으로 보내진다. 천사장 조단(Mr. Jordan: 클로드 레인스 분)과 천국의 사도는 함께 조의 시체를 찾지만 시체는 이미 화장된 뒤였다. 다시 하늘나라로 돌아온 조는 조단과 함께 자신에게 맞는 육체를 찾아 나선다. 조단은 조에게 부인과 비서에게 살해당한 백만장자 판스워스의 몸에 들어 갈 것을 제의하고 때마침 찾아온 베티(Bette Logan: 에벨리 키스 분)라는 여인을 보고 반한 조는 곤경에 처한 그녀를 돕기 위해 판스워스의 몸으로 들어간다. 판스워스가 된 조는 베티의 아버지를 구하고 선행을 베푸는가 하면 예전의 매니저였던 맥스(Max 'Pop' Corkle: 제임스 글리슨 분)를 불러 세계 챔피언전을 주선해 달라고 부탁한다. 맥스는 처음엔 조의 말을 안 믿었지만 조가 불어주는 색소폰 연주를 듣고 그의 말을 믿게 된다. 그러나 판스워스의 몸을 사용할 수 있는 시간도 잠시 뿐, 판스워스는 결국 부인과 비서의 손에 다시 살해되고 만다. 판스워스가 실종되자 수사가 벌어지고, 조는 다시 조단과 함께 육체를 찾아 떠돌아다닌다. 그러는 가운데 머독과 길버트의 세계 챔피언전이 벌어지고 라디오를 통해 중계를 듣고 있던 조는 머독이 도박꾼들의 사기 시합의 희생양이 되어 시합 도중 총에 맞아 죽는 것을 보게 된다. 조단은 조에게 머독이 되어 시합을 끝낼 것을 제의하고 조는 쓰러져있는 머독의 몸에 들어가 시합을 승리로 이끈다.

Columbia's 12th serial of 57 total (following 1940's "Deadwood Dick" and ahead of 1941's "White Eagle") is another of director's James Horne's "classics" where he evidently figured that the same reactions that served him well in Laurel and Hardy films would work well in action serials where he has all hands, heroes and villains alike, doing some kind of over-the top "take", no matter the situation. This loose adaptation of an Edgar Wallace story finds Michael Bellamy (Kenne Duncan in his Kenneth Duncan period) inheriting Garr Castle, but his brother, Abel Bellamy (James Craven, as usual making Oil-Can Harry look smooth), has him imprisoned unjustly and moves into the castle himself. There Ray meets Nancy Bliss, Bliss' grand-daughter, and falls in love with her. Speed meets her at a dance and urges Ray to propose before some other guy does. Ray is assigned to flood rescue duty, and Speed and Nancy start going out together and discover they are in love.

When they can't get passes to go ashore, they steal officers uniforms and go to a party with Curly passing himself off as Admiral Taylor and Moe and Larry as his aides. Two spies, one of them a beautiful woman, trick the stooges into stealing a new submarine. The boys turn the table on the spies and capture them. When the real Admiral shows up, Curly's reenacts the capture and accidentally detonates a bomb, blowing them all to kingdom come.

The first in RKO Pathe's series of "Traveling Salesman Comedies" has Louis John Bartels traveling to Mexico to sell his line of underwear. He garners the attention of a fair senorita which does not set well with the chief of a gang of bandits, and Bartels is soon seeking the USA/Mexico borderline.
A homeowner takes delivery of his new radio. The crate is so big that the front door needs to be widened by about a yard. No problem when you've got a saw! In spite of the size of the crate, the radio turns out to be regular tabletop size. Further installation requires punching a big hole in the roof. That's when the downpour starts, filling the bungalow with water. Finally, the radio is working in spite of the torrent falling from the ceiling. The weather broadcast announces clear skies today. Let the fisticuffs commence!
