화물트럭 운전사인 '덕'은 트럭 기사들의 속도 위반을 함정 단속해서 돈을 뜯어내는 악덕 보안관 '더티 라일'과는 원수지간이다. 폭발 위험성이 있는 화학 물질을 운반 중이던 덕과 다른 운전기사들은 술집에서 시비를 거는 라일과 그 부하 경찰들을 때려 눕힌 후, 도주 길에 오른다. 덕은 과거 도로 상에서 알게 된 여성 사진사인 멜리사를 태우고 일행의 선두에 나서게 되고, 라일은 그를 필사적으로 추적하지만 다른 트럭 기사들까지 덕에게 가세하면서, 트럭 행렬은 더욱 거대해진다. 덕과 그 일행이 주민들의 지지까지 받게 되자 이를 자신의 정치적 목적에 이용하고자 하는 뉴멕시코의 주지사 '해스킨스'는 공식적인 자리를 마련해 일행을 만난다. 한편 라일은 동료 보안관인 알바레즈와 함께 덕의 동료인 '스파이더 마이크'를 미끼로 잡아서 폭행을 가하고, 이를 본 한 청소부가 덕에게 이 사실을 알린다. 홀로 마이크를 구하러 가겠다고 나선 덕은 뒤따라온 동료들의 도움으로 마이크를 구출해내는 데 성공하지만, 자신 때문에 괜한 고생을 한 동료에게 미안해한다. 복수의 칼을 갈던 라일은 멕시코로 향하는 길목에 군까지 배치시켜 다리를 건너는 덕의 트럭을 향해 무차별 사격을 가하고, 덕의 트럭은 폭파하고 만다. 모두가 덕이 죽었다고 생각한다. 추모식장에서도 자신의 정치적 야심을 드러내는 주지사를 역겨워하는 트럭 운전사들은 자리를 뜨고, 멜리사도 떠나려는 순간, 죽은 줄 알고 있었던 덕이 차의 뒷자리를 차지하고 있지 않은가. 덕이 멜리사와 함께 있는 걸 본 라일은 경악하지만, 곧 크게 웃고 만다.

The Bower Family Band petitions the Democratic National Committee to sing a Grover Cleveland rally song at the 1888 convention, but decide instead to move to the Dakota territory on the urging of a suitor to their eldest daughter. There, Grampa Bower causes trouble with his pro-Cleveland ideas, as Dakota residents are overwhelmingly Republican, and hope to get the territory admitted as two states (North and South Dakota) rather than one in order to send four Republican senators to Washington. Cleveland opposed this plan, refusing to refer to Congress the plan to organize the Dakotas this way. When Cleveland wins the popular vote, but Harrison the presidency due to the electoral college votes, the Dakotans (particularly the feuding young couple) resolve to live together in peace, and Cleveland grants statehood to the two Dakotas before he leaves office (along with two Democrat-voting states, evening the gains for both parties).

After serving three years in prison for a bank robbery, Joe Dasco is released and reunited with his son. Together they both go looking for work in the Texas oil fields. Not being able to hold a steady honest job, Joe Dasco along with a few men that he befriends along the way attempt to kidnap an oil baron's son. The kidnapping fails and Joe Dasco is shot and killed. His son Joey is then left alone but inherits what his father fought and died for.

A man has his eyes set on controlling the Big Sag territory in Montana and hopes to achieve his goal by forcing a newly-arrived family from Texas from their land. Hoping to convince the local saloonkeeper to help him, the man sends his daughter into town with instructions for his potential partner. A storm waylays the daughter during her trip to town and she is forced to stay at the home of her father's intended victims, leading to an interesting turn or two.

Two couples are on a boating trip when they come across an uncharted island. The four investigate and find themselves in the clutches of Dr. Albert Balleau, whose hobby is hunting both animals and humans… The group tries to escape only to be thwarted by Dr. Balleau and his henchmen.

Story concerns the efforts of Buffalo Bill to protect the Indian's land from a gang who want to get the gold buried there. The outlaws disguise themselves as Indians and raid and plunder the settlers in order to blame the tribe.
