해리(Harry: 쥬드 넬슨 분)와 다프니(Daphne: 지나 거손 분)는 백화점 쇼 윈도우의 살아있는 마네킹으로 일한다. 쇼 윈도우 안에서 비싼 브랜드의 옷을 입고 진짜 마네킹처럼 꼼짝도 않고 서 있는게 이들이지만 실제로는 지독히도 가난하다. 해리는 변호사 시험을 준비 중이지만 벌써 세 번이나 시험에 낙방, 허름한 아파트에서 낡은 고물차를 끌고 다니는 신세다. 다프니는 비록 고되지만 배우가 될 꿈을 가진 자신의 이력에 이 일이 도움이 될 것으로 믿고 최선을 다해 일한다. 반면 단지 경제적인 이유로 이 일을 하는 해리는 번번히 규칙(말을 하거나 움직여서는 안됨)을 어겨 고용인에게 잔소리를 듣기 일쑤다. 내색은 안 하지만 해리는 다프니를 좋아하고 있었고, 다프니는 해리를 한심하고 무례한 사람이라고 생각, 조금도 호감을 갖고 있지 않았는데...

Artie Logan is the new guy on Campus. Suddenly, he meets Tally Fuller: the most popular and beautiful girl at Fairfield college and she finally agrees to go on a date with him. But that night she is brutally killed by a blowtorch-wielding maniac and Artie is wrongfully arrested. Despite protests from other Police officers, detective P.J. Decker believes Artie's story and gives him 24 hours to track down the real killer.
Story
An overprotective single mother tries to stop her son joining the parachute unit by sending him to the college, fearful that he may end up his life like his father did. He secretly leaves the college and joins the army, but the mother finds out and makes a bet with him that if she passes the basic training, he will leave the unit.
