Yuki is a sought-after hooker, who also has a special ability: she can see ghosts! Yuki is very distraught by the ghost images, and it starts affecting her performance at work. One of the ghosts makes an attempt to communicate with her and ask her for help. Yuki tries to find out what he's attempting to say and assist him, with the hopes that this will allow her to stop being troubled by what she sees.

국회의원을 인질로 잡고 농성 중인 청년을 설득하려던 형사 야부이케는 ‘세계의 법칙을 회복하라’는 수수께끼 같은 쪽지를 받고 혼란에 빠진다. 잠시 망설이던 사이, 청년은 인질을 쏘고 자신도 자살한다. 이 사건으로 문책을 받은 야부이케는 무기한 휴가를 떠나게 된다. 우연히 도착한 숲에서 그는 주위의 모든 나무를 독으로 물들이는 한 그루의 나무를 발견하는데, ‘카리스마’란 이름의 이 나무를 둘러싸고 숲에서는 여러 입장들이 싸우고 있다. 나무와 숲 모두를 구하고 싶다는 생각을 한 야부이케는 이 숲의 투쟁 속에 들어가게 된다.

A dark and strange comedy about a bank robber with bad luck. Bungling a bank robbery turns out to be a profitable mistake for Yamazaki, an amateur crook who ends up with 80 million yen after a string of improbable accidents. But having so much cash doesn't make his life is any easier. In fact, it gets much more complicated when Yamazaki stabs a hairdresser by mistake and instantly becomes a hunted fugitive. He's just one unlucky monkey but can he turn his luck around?

Sho Aikawa plays a police detective whose dark personal history makes it impossible for him to stay within the limits of the legal system. But he is not just a detective; he is also a husband who has to explain to his wife how he got blood on his sleeve. And the criminals he pursues turn out to be as imperfect and oddly human as he is-and just as determined to protect their own families. This is the first of Kurosawa's films to pay homage to 1970s American gunslingers like Dirty Harry and reinvent them for modern Tokyo.
