BC 480년, 페르시아 국왕 크세르크세스(로드리고 산토로)가 이끄는 대군이 그리스로 진군해온다. 1년 전 복종을 요구하는 페르시아 사자를 우물에 처넣었던 스파르타 국왕 레오니다스(제라드 버틀러)는 그리스 도시국가들과 연합군을 결성하려고 하지만, 신탁은 이를 허락하지 않는다. 그러나 레오니다스는 전쟁에 반대하는 의회에 등을 돌리고 300명의 정예부대와 테르모필레 협곡으로 향한다. 대를 이을 아들이 있는 자만 선발한 레오니다스는 자신이 다시는 왕비 고르고(레나 헤디) 곁으로 돌아오지 못하리라는 사실을 알고 있다.

This movie relates all the small tragedies surrounding the gaz bar, such as hold-ups, competition from the big companies invading the neighbourhood, and the fact that is sons don't seem to be interested in the gas station.
