Madhava Padayachi (Sathyaraj) narrates his life to a young man who saves him from shame. He goes to his home village by a bus and feels for Madhava Padayachi who was a rich farmer long time back in his village. Madhavar, as he is fondly called, his wife Velayi (Archana) and their three sons live a happy life in their village. He is an honest and hard working farmer who will do anything for others. And he is well respected by everyone in the village. Velayi is his strength but the others in the family do not approve his nature especially in money matters.

Satya, a college student, falls for peer pressure and ends up eve-teasing a few girls who later on lose their lives due to an unfortunate accident.

The story centers on six youngsters, who experience the downfalls of teenage life. The film conveys a message about the importance of a good education and career over other distractions, such as romance and sex.

Selvaraj (R. Sarathkumar), an upright police officer, takes charge as a SP in a new area and he settles down there with his daughter Meena. A woman inspector Amudha (Meenakshi) helps him. Raghavan). During the deepavali festival, they all witnessed a murder committed by the rowdy Gurusami. Gurusami sent his henchmen to kill Selvaraj's family. During the confrontation, Lakshmi and Venugopal were murdered, while Selvaraj was seriously injured and his baby spared. Gurusami was later sentenced to the death penalty but he managed to be released thanks to his henchmen. Selvaraj is now determined to punish them.

Ammu, a little girl, runs away from her bungalow as her stepmother physically tortures her. However, the girl finds love and solace in the arms of Kamala, a milk vendor.
