사막 투어로 생계를 이어가는 세컨트 컴퍼니. 그곳에는 버트(칼 마키넌)와 클레어(제스 맥칼랜)가 회사를 이끌며, 조카 로스(존 레드링어)와 함께 생활하고 있었다. 그날도 사막 투어에 학생들이 찾아왔지만, 가이드의 부족으로 그들은 로스의 손을 빌리기로 하고, 클래어와 버트는 학생들을 데리고 사막으로 들어가게 된다.
