2017년, 1967년 성범죄법 제정 50주년을 맞았다. 동성애가 범죄였던 1950년대에 성소수자들은 억압과 공포 속에서 살았다. 성소수자들이 영국에서 평등에 도달하기 까지는 아직도 수십년이 걸리겠지만 이 법안은 그 여정의 시작이다. 피터 와일드블러드와 몬태규 재판의 실화를 그린 영화이다. 와일드블러드와 그의 친구 몬태규 남작과 마이클 피트리버스는 동성애 범죄로 유죄판결을 받고 수감되었다. 그러나 대중은 재판이 불공정하다고 항의하고 정부는 마지못해 동성애가 합법화 되어야 하는지 조사하는 위원회를 구성하기로 한다. 1940년 5월, 독일 팬저 부대 전격적으로 인해 영국과 프랑스의 연합군은 프랑스의 요충지인 덩케르크 항구까지 후퇴하게 된다. 독일군이 파리를 점령하기 위해 방향을 잠시 바꾼 사이 영,프 연합군은 뎅케르크에서 철수작전을 시작한다. 주인공 밥 레이스 상병도(대니 디어) 대원들을 이끌고 덩케르크로 철수하기 위해 후퇴를 하지만 최후의 방어선을 친 영국군에게 저지당하고만다. 이에 밥 레이스는 이를 거부하며 장교를 폭행하게 되고, 그로 인해 결국 영국 군사교도소에 수감되게 된다. 이 후 프랑스는 독일에게 점령당해 괴뢰정부가 수립되는 상황을 맞이하며, 결국 영국 홀로 독일과 맞서 싸워야 하는 상황에 놓인다. 영국은 이에 대항하기 위해 존스 소령(숀 빈)의 지휘 아래 수감된 레이스 상병마저 포함시킨 최초의 특수부대인 "No.30 코만도"를 꾸려 지옥의 훈련에 돌입하게 되는데...

The Black Death, a pandemic disease that ravaged in the 1300s, caused a never-before-seen human catastrophe of frightening magnitude. Over the course of three terrible years, more than a third of Europe's population was wiped out.

1839. The young Nell Trent is leading a happy life with her grandfather in his curiosity shop. Wharf owner Daniel Quilp has given large amounts of money to Nell's grandfather as an investment, expecting a large profit. But when Quilp finds out the old man has lost all the money with playing cards, he is determined to get the man in a madhouse as revenge. Nell and her grandfather are forced to leave their house and to start traveling across the country. But Quilp isn't sitting still, his spies are everywhere. Meanwhile a stranger is also looking for Nell's grandfather.

During World War 2 the Germans arrested people at random off the streets of Paris and in retaliation to sabotage by the resistance announced the execution of one in ten prisoners. Chosen as one of the victims, lawyer Chavel trades his place with another man in return for all his possessions. At the end of the war he returns to his house and tries to integrate himself with the family of the man who traded places with him, all the while hiding his true identity. However matters are complicated when a stranger arrives claiming to be Chavel.
