프랑스의 한 소도시를 방문한 젊은 화가는 노천 카페에서 생동감 있고 매력적인 젊은 여성들을 관찰하며 그림을 그리다가 6년 전 이 도시를 발견했을 때 길을 알려줬던 실비아와 비슷한 여자를 발견한다. 황급히 그녀를 쫓아 일어난 남자는 구불구불한 골목길을 지나 낯선 도시를 탐험하듯 돌아다니게 된다. 가히‘ 앰비언트(일상소음) 시네마’라고 부를 만한 형식 속에서 한 남자의 시선을 대신한 카메라는 도시의 소음과 풍경을 섬세하게 담아낸다.
