In 1971, to get breathing room from tax and management problems, the Stones go to France. Jimmy Miller parks a recording truck next to Keith Richards and Anita Pallenberg's Blue Coast villa, and by June the band is in the basement a few days at a time. Upstairs, heroin, bourbon, and visitors are everywhere. The Stones, other musicians and crew, Pallenberg, and photographer Dominique Tarle, plus old clips and photos and contemporary footage, provide commentary on the album's haphazard construction. By September, the villa is empty; Richards and Jagger complete production in LA. "Exile on Main Street" is released to mediocre reviews that soon give way to lionization.

In 2007 the legendary American duo White Stripes toured Canada. Besides playing the usual venues they challenged themselves and played in buses, cafés and for Indian tribal elders. Music video director Emmett Malloy followed the band and managed to capture both the special tour, extraordinary concert versions of the band's minimalist, raw, blues-inspired rock songs and the special relationship between the extroverted Jack White and the introspective Meg White - a formerly married couple who for a long time claimed to be siblings. John Peel's Record Box is a documentary film made by Elaine Shepherd, released on 14 November 2005 on Channel 4. It was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award. It is about a small private collection of the British radio DJ John Peel who died in 2004 at the age of 65. Peel's main archive contained more than 100,000 vinyl records and CDs. This smaller private collection, however, contains 143 singles - some of them doublettes - stored in a private wooden box representing some of his personal favourites. According to the documentary, there are no singles by Peel's favorite group, The Fall, because he kept them in a separate box. The film features interviews with John's wife Sheila Ravenscroft, radio DJs and artists like Mary Anne Hobbs, Sir Elton John, Ronnie Wood, Roger Daltrey, Fergal Sharkey, Jack White, Michael Palin and Miki Berenyi.

시끄럽고 허름한 카페, 로베르토와 스티븐은 커피에 중독되어 덜덜 떨리는 손으로도 연신 진한 커피를 들이켜댄다. 커피와 담배에 대한 예찬으로 일관된 선문답은 희한하게도 계속 이어지고 로베르토는 어이없게도 스티븐의 치과 약속을 대신 가주려고 한다. 불평불만 가득한 이란성 쌍둥이 형제 조이와 쌩께는 어린 아이들처럼 오늘도 투닥거리기 일쑤다. 이들에게 다가온 종업원 스티브 부세미, 그는 이들이 쌍둥이라는 것을 눈치 채고 쌍둥이에 얽힌 자신만의 부세미 쌍둥이론을 털어놓는다. 캘리포니아의 한 카페테리아, 톰과 이기는 테이블에 앉아 금연의 미학에 대해 토론한다. 그들은 금연에 실패한 사람들은 모두 의지박약이라며 비난한다. 그러나 톰은 담배를 끊었으니까 한 대 정도는 괜찮다며 이기에게 테이블에 놓인 담배를 피자고 권유하는데...

Filmmaker Benjamin Hernandez, whose 1999 shot-on-video documentary The Detroit Rock Movie features early footage of many of the town's best-known bands-says, "We were kind of rushing to make that movie because we all felt that this whole garage-rock thing was about to become played out and this was going to fade. Amusingly enough, now people are starting to notice." Initially, the only outlets for the city's new rock'n'roll sound were Flying Bomb (run by Claydon and his wife, Patti) and Detroit's Italy, which is operated by bassist Dave Buick of the Go. Claydon says of his label and Buick's, "We both kind of consider ourselves, like, necessity labels. People weren't putting out a band, so we did it."

성당의 대주교에 이어 앤 수녀가 연쇄 살해되는 사건이 발생한다. 이들의 손에는 하나같이 묵주가 쥐어져 있었다. 살해된 시체를 처음 발견한 케슬러 신부(Father Koesler: 도날드 서덜랜드 분)는 경찰과 신문기자들에게 도움을 주고 싶지만 사건의 경위를 알지 못해 안절부절한다. 그러던 어느 날, 고해성사를 하러 온 범인이 자기 딸이 3년전에 자살했다는 말과 함께 자신의 주머니에 묵주가 하나 더 있음을 고백한다. 이 자가 범인임을 직감한 캐슬러 신부는 사건과 관계되는 이야기를 유도하려고 하지만 범인은 황급히 달아난다. 막막해진 케슬러 신부는 앤 신부로부터 우연히 건네 받았던 그림 속에서 다음 살인 표적을 눈치채게 된다.
