Tindersticks

In present-day Nicaragua, a headstrong American journalist and a mysterious English businessman strike up a romance as they become embroiled in a dangerous labyrinth of lies and conspiracies and are forced to try and escape the country.

Emma and Anaïs are best friends and yet everything in their life seems to set them apart, their social backgrounds but also their personalities. From the age of thirteen to eighteen, Adolescentes follows the two teenagers during these years where radical transformations and first times punctuate daily life. Through their personal stories, the film offers a rare portrait of France and its recent history.

자연주의자, 발명가 그리고 선구자적인 영화감독이었던 프랭크 퍼시 스미스(F. Percy Smith) 감독의 놀라운 노력과 성과가 담긴 작품이다. 스미스 감독은 21세기 초 영화 기법과 축소 사진 기법을 이용해 자연을 영화에 담고자 노력했으며, 여러 공적 활동과 동시에 여러 편의 영화를 연출하기도 했다. 자연을 탐험하고 미지의 영역을 담아내고자 하는 의욕이 넘치는 감독이라 평가받는다. 영화는 감독의 원작 영상과 얼터너티브 락 뮤지션 틴더스틱스(Tindersticks)의 새로운 현대 음악을 합친 해석판이다. 영화는 마치 최면을 거는 듯 이질적이지만 어딘가 친숙한 초현실적인 이미지를 만들어 감독이 현미경으로 무언가를 발견했을 때 느꼈던 놀라움을 관객도 느낄 수 있도록 만든다. The adventurous collective known as Tindersticks enters their 25th year with perhaps their most adventurous project yet, a ninth studio album, The Waiting Room, which they have released in tandem with a collection of short films inspired by the record’s songs. In collaboration with the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and la Blogotheque The Waiting Room Film Project is an organic extension of the album.

In 2014, artist Olafur Eliasson and filmmaker Claire Denis connected for the first time to explore and discuss their common fascination with phenomena that have not yet been fully explained by science – such as black holes – and their shared interest in abstraction. This short film by Denis, contemplating tests for Eliasson's work ‘Contact’, is one outcome of that conversation which would eventually lead to their collaboration on Denis's film High Life (2018), in which Eliasson designed the light installations at the films end.

루이 트레버는 자신이 건강하다고 느끼지만, 사실 그의 심장은 더 이상 버틸 수 없을 정도로 쇠약해진 상태다. 그리고 루이 역시 그 사실을 알고 있다. 고독 속에 파묻혀 지내던 루이는 심장이식 수술 뒤 전혀 다른 인생을 살아가기 시작한다. 프랑스와 스위스 국경에 위치한 산장에서 시작된 여행은 정확한 위치를 알 수 없는 남태평양의 어느 해안까지 이른다. 자신을 괴롭히던 위험을 던져버리고, 청산할 수 없는 혹은 청산하고 싶지 않은 빚을 진 루이는 자신의 과거 그리고 현재와 화해하고자 한다.
