Tom Kindle, a character actor, appeared in numerous television series, features, and on stage. Following military service in South Vietnam, Kindle attended the U. of North Carolina and by 1975 was acting in Off Broadway plays, including "The Soldier". Additional legit credits included "A Touch of the Poet", "The Martian Chronicles", "Time Will Tell", and "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow". Kindle's series TV work included "M*A*S*H", "Evening Shade", "Cheers", "Designing Women", "Remington Steele", "Mork and Mindy", Highway to Heaven" and "Simon and Simon". 1938년 로스엔젤레스. 경비행기 조종사인 클리프 씨코드(빌 캠벨 분)는 부적처럼 꼬리 날개에 껌을 붙이고 아름다운 애인 제니 블레이크(제니퍼 코넬리 분)의 사진을 보면서 첫 곡예 시험 비행에 들어간다. 멋진 비행 솜씨를 보이던 클리프는 곧 FBI에 쫓겨 충격전이 벌어지는 곳에 휘말려 비행기 고장으로 추락, 엔지니어인 피비(알란 아킨 분)와 3년간 준비한 전국대회의 우승은 물거품처럼 사라진다. 범인 데니는 죽고 부상당한 나머지 한 명인 윌머(맥스 그로덴킥 분)를 잡은 FBI는 폭발된 자동차에서 자신들이 찾던 '사이러스 X-3 로켓' 모양의 파괴된 물체를 발견하여 로켓은 폭발되었다고 로켓 제작자인 하워드 휴즈에게 보고 한다. 그런데 클리프와 피비는 FBI에 쫓기던 범인들이 비행기 격납고의 낡은 비행기 안에 숨긴 로켓 장비를 발견한다. 이상하게 생긴 그 기계의 스위치를 켜자 놀라운 속도로 날아오른다.

His wife, Jane, is also arranging a POW wives league in the U.S. in order to popularize their plight.
