어린 뮤턴트들을 수용하는 멀버리 병원에 가장 마지막으로 입원한 대니는 자신이 돌연변이라는 사실을 알지만, 정확히 어떤 초능력을 가졌는지는 모른다. 먼저 입원한 레인은 늑대인간으로 변하고 샘은 엄청나게 빠른 속도로 어디든 뚫고 지나간다. 일리야나는 오른팔을 검푸른 검으로 만들어 휘두를 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 위험할 땐 자신이 만들어낸 공간 림보로 재빨리 달아나는 능력까지 지녔다. 자신이 어떤 능력을 타고났는지도 모르는 대니와 달리 이들은 자신의 능력을 정확히 알고 있고 제어하는 힘까지 잘 안다. 대니는 닥터 레예스와 함께 상담을 이어가면서 능력을 통제하는 힘을 키워나가려고 한다.
