식당 종업원 맹원문은 대머리 점장에게 혹사되며 나날을 보내고 있었다. 어느 날 가게에 와서 괴롭히는 임휘황을 쓰러뜨리자 주먹깨나 쓰는 왕룡위와 관봉이 온다. 그런데 이 두 콤비는 맹원문 맏형인 조리사 원화와 깊은 원한이 있어, 원화는 혼자 식당에서 도망간다. 맹원문은 설욕하고자 원화에게 쿵후를 배우려고 하지만 원화는 위험하다고 뿌리친다. 그 뒤 맹원문은 낡은 사찰에서 만난 노숙자 스승으로부터 그럭저럭 권법을 전수 받는다. 어느 정도 실력을 익히고 돌아온 맹원문은 왕룡위에게 도전하지만 도리어 크게 당한다. 맹원문은 협력을 구하려고 원화를 찾지만 그의 제의를 거부한다. 그러는 사이 왕룡위의 매복에 걸린 원화가 위기에 처하고, 그때 맹원문이 나타나 최후의 대결이 시작되는데...
