Ainosuke Kataoka

In 1934 (Showa 9), Maj. Gen. Yamamoto Isoroku was ordered to be the chief representative of the preliminary negotiations for the Disarmament Conference to be held in London. If negotiations break down and Japan becomes isolated from the international community, the gap with Britain and the United States will deepen, and it may eventually become a war. Knowing the mighty national power of the United States and thinking that war should be avoided, Yamamoto is forced to make a tough decision with the speculation of senior military personnel who want to withdraw from the disarmament system and hope for a path to arms race. Under such circumstances, Yamamoto comes up with a secret plan!

소수 야당의 당수를 맡고 있는 린코(나카타니 미키)를 아내로 둔 조류학자 소우마 히데카즈(다나카 케이). 만약 총리가 된다면 불편하지 않겠냐는 린코의 질문에 히다카즈는 크게 개의치 않고 들새 관찰 출장을 떠난다. 전파가 닿지 않는 외딴 섬에서 그가 열흘에 걸쳐 야생조류를 관찰하는 동안 린코는 일본 역사상 처음으로 여성 총리대신에 선출된다. 졸지에 총리의 남편이 돼버린 것에 당황해 하며 아내를 전신 전령으로 떠받치려는 히데카즈지만 부부의 사랑과 정을 시험받는 문제가 꼬리를 문다.

소설가인 아버지의 모습을 보고자란 소년 이치야. 팔리지 않는 소설을 쓰는 작가 아버지였지만 아버지는 항상 행복해 보였고 그의 어머니 또한 아버지를 지지해주었다. 그런 아버지의 영향으로 이치야는 어릴 적부터 소설을 쓰게 되었고 중학생 때 작가 데뷔를 하게 된다. 하지만 자신의 글이 SNS에서 혹평을 받게 되고 본인 스스로도 팔리지 않는 작가라는 생각에 좌절감을 가지고 지내지만 그럼에도 불구하고 꾸준히 글을 쓰고 있었다. 그러던 어느 날 편집자의 권유로 만나게 된 인기 소설가 시이나. 그녀는 이치야의 동급생으로 안면이 있는 사이였지만 유명한 소설가인 줄 꿈에도 알지 못했다. 시이나가 스토리를 얘기하면 이치야가 글을 쓰는 공동작업을 하게 된 두 사람. 스타일이 다른 두 사람의 공동작업 순조롭게 이뤄질 수 있을까?

Maeno Ryotaku (Kataoka Ainosuke) is a doctor of Buzen Province, Nakatsu domain. Aspiring to learn Western knowledge, he comes across a Dutch-language translation of the German medical text Anatomische Tabellen while studying in Nagasaki. After returning from Nagasaki, Maeno is invited by a doctor friend Sugita Genpaku (Niiro Shinya) of Wakasa Province, Obama domain to observe an autopsy.

Nobuyuki Sakisaka (Yuta Tamamori) is a salaryman. When he was in middle school student, he read light novel "Fairy Game”. He still has that light novel, because he was so shocked by the ending. One day, Nobuyuki Sakisaka browses the internet and comes across the blog "Rein Tsuri no Kuni.” He learns that the blog writer, Rika Hitomi (Mariya Nishiuchi), also was shocked by the ending in light novel "Fairy Game." Nobuyuki and Rika soon begin to exchange emails. Nobuyuki wants to meet Rika, but she refuses due to her secret.
