재벌회사의 총수인 용가존은 돈이면 무엇이든지 할 수 있다고 생각하는 주위 사람들에게 염증을 느낀다. 그의 어머니는 돈으로 온몸을 치장한 에나를 가존과 결혼시키려 한다. 그러나 가존은 그녀가 싫다. 에나는 자신의 유혹에 넘어가지 않는 가존을 바다로 빌어버리고 배를 뭍 가버린다. 물에 빠진 가존은 자신과 같이 헤엄을 치는 몇몇 남자들을 따라 낯선 따으로 갔는데 그들은 탈출한 밀입국자들이고 그 섬은 대만이었다. 가존은 그들과 같이 쫓기게 된다. 한편 용가존 회사의 신입사원 현하는 홀어머니와 대만에서 식당을 경영하는 소시민이었다. 가존은 바로 그 집의 지붕에 숨어 있다가 안으로 떨어지고 만다. 놀란 현하와 어머니는 가존을 무조건 때린뒤 그를 밀입국자로 간주하고 가게에 싼값으로 고용하기로 한다. 이에 가존도 집으로 돌아가면 결혼문제로 시달림을 당할것이 확실하기에 당분간 대만에 머물기로 작정한다. 현화와 그의 어머니와 함께 살면서 여러 헤프닝을 벌이는데 그런속에서 현하와 가존은 사랑하는 사이가 된다. 그러다가 가존의 욕심많은 삼촌이 현하의 집이 있는 땅을 노리게 되고 이를 막기위해 본 모습을 드러내는 가존. 드디어 실체가 공개된다. 현하의 생일이기도 한 이날. 많은 사람이 모인 가운데 가존과 현하가 춤을 추며 막을 내린다.

Sammo Hung plays three different characters: Fatty, Fatty's father and Fatty's grandfather, Hung Kau. Fatty is a hotel worker, yearning for sudden wealth. Therefore, he, and his co-worker, enter the gambling world, to the dismay of his father. When Fatty hits rock bottom, the ghost of his grandfather resurrects to help him. However, Fatty learns that his grandfather was murdered, therefore, he will stop at nothing to avenge his death.

Fong and Angie were close friends when they were in school but departed after graduation. Fong continued her further education in a training center. Angie worked in a studio and had a crush on a guy classmate Cheung, who was also attracted to Angie. Though Angie had feeling on Cheung, but she found out about Fong's infatuation so refused to date Cheung. One night, Angie was particularly low in spirits, she went to see Cheung at the club where he sang. She ended up sleeping with him. Stricken by a guilty conscience, Angie refused to see Cheung again. Fong found that Cheung didn't like him so she dedicated herself into course. At the graduation performance, Fong invited Angie to go but Angle didn't show up. Fong kept calling Angie and eventually she got through and found out that Angie had drown in the swimming pool.
