Based on an actual post-war murder in Frankfurt, this standard docudrama by Rudolf Jugert is a serious treatment of the story as compared to the earlier, satirical film The Girl Rosemarie. The history of the case of Rosemarie, a hooker, and how she came to be strangled in her apartment is not completely clear. One of the suspects in the case was first charged, later acquitted, but never really free of an aura of culpability. British actress Belinda Lee plays the title role with her voice dubbed over in German.

A scientist invents a serum that keeps a dog's head alive after its body dies. When the scientist dies of a heart attack, his crazed assistant cuts off his head and, using the serum, keeps the doctor's head alive and forces it to help him on an experiment to give his hunchbacked nurse assistant a new body.

When she was a little girl, Liuba came to town with her widowed mother to live in the block of flats owned by her aunt Anna Iwanowna. The wealthy and cold-hearted Anna Iwanowna barely accepted them as tenants. And no sooner did Liuba's mother die than she wanted to send her niece to the orphanage. Fortunately, Pawlin, Anna Iwanowna's janitor, decided to adopt her and he brought her up with affection. When she grew up, the beautiful Liuba fell in love with her aunt's son, Dodja, a good-looking but profligate army officer. Wishing nothing more than an affair with Liuba, Dodja did not hesitate to play the comedy of love to her. When she realized what Dodja was really after, Liuba was devastated and in desperation accepted to marry Pawlin, her benefactor, who had been infatuated with her for years. As the end of the Second World War approaches and the Soviet Red Army is advancing, a group of concentration camp inmates is helped to escape by a Polish doctor. They hide in a wood where they meet other fugitives, who have been there for months, constantly in fear of being discovered. Out of fear of the German army patrols, they do not dare to leave the forest, even as the food supplies run low.

1945년 독일 패전 후 폐허가 된 베를린 시내. 강제수용소에 끌려갔던 주자네는 집으로 돌아오게 되지만, 그의 아파트에는 참전군인 외과의 한스가 살고 있다. 어쩔 수 없이 동거를 하게 된 주자네와 한스는 전쟁으로 인한 상처를 보듬으며 이내 서로에게 의지한다. 어느 날, 한스는 함께 참전했던 브뤼크너 대위가 살아 있다는 것을 알게 되지만, 그가 부를 축적하고 행복한 가정을 꾸리고 살고 있는 것에 분노한다. 브뤼크너는 전쟁 중 무고한 폴란드인 100여명의 총살을 명령했던 전범이었던 것. 패전 후 처음 맞는 성탄절, 한스는 진정한 평화를 위해 브뤼크너를 처벌하기로 결심한다. 독일 패전 후 나치즘 청산을 위해 연합군의 검열 하에 만들어진 전후 첫 독일영화.
