Behind the locked doors of his apartment, a man faces troubling phenomena, straddling the thin line between fantasy and psychosis. His apartment seems to mutate uncannily as it is incrementally invaded by strange drawings. Painfully, he retches up a creature as black as the ink on the pages… A new union is coming. The creature starts to explore her new surroundings, a place she will eventually make her own.
The latest episode continues to voyeuristically document what goes on in the minds and bedrooms of urban gays. In Berlin, Mathews lingers on the tension and circular nature between intimacy and loneliness by documenting a handful of Berliners -some single, some coupled, some hooking up- over the course of one day.

베를린 외곽 한 묘지에서 깨어난 좀비 오토는 베를린에서 정치적 포르노그래피 좀비 영화인 을 제작 중이던 메데아를 만난다. 영화의 주인공인 좀비 역의 배우를 찾고 있던 메데아는 오토를 캐스팅하고, 갈 곳 없이 떠돌던 오토는 배우인 아돌프와 함께 지내기 시작한다. 한편 오토는 문득문득 떠오르는 과거의 기억에 혼란스러워하고, 급기야 기억의 파편속에 존재하는 남자친구를 찾아가기에 이른다. 과거 소년 시절의 살아있던 기억이 찾아오면서 오토는 좀비로서의 자신의 존재를 의심하기 시작한다. 살아있는 시체인 좀비로서의 존재를 의심하게 된다면, 과연 좀비로 남기 위한 오토의 선택은 무엇이 될 것인가. 아마도 퀴어 시네마 지형에서 가장 이단아적인 존재로 기억될 만한 브루스 라 브루스의 신작 는 그의 주된 관심사인 좌파적 정치성, 그리고 포르노그래피에 대한 애정(!)을 좀비영화의 외피를 통해 전달한다. 라 브루스에게 좀비는 퀴어의 주변성에 대한 알레고리인 동시에 썩어빠진 정치로 가득 찬 현실세계에 정면으로 도전할 수 있는 혁명적 존재다. 영화 속 영화의 형식 안에서 그는 특유의 선동적 언더그라운드 스타일, 그리고 풍부한 예술적 레퍼런스를 호러영화의 정치성과 접속시킴으로써 혁명의 에너지를 희구하는 전복의 메시지를 던지고 있다.
