A rather regular state official, who works at the building authority, becomes a puppet of a few super rich. They want to make quite a lot of profit from a planned large-scale building project. Quicker than anticipated, the father-to-be gets surprised by a couple of amenities and notices that life isn’t too bad in the sphere of these semi-legal affairs. Soon, however, he has a prosecuting attorney on his tails and has to decide himself for a side.
Martina and her partner Ralf, who run a restaurant together in Cologne, enjoy their holiday in Brittany - until one day Ralf does not return from a sailing trip. The Breton police believe in a sailing accident and make Martina little hope that her friend has survived. But Martina does not want to accept Ralf's death and begins a desperate search on the coast of Brittany. However, when this remains in vain, Martina returns to Germany.
한 허름한 뒷골목 길에 폭행을 당한 채 쓰려져 있던 조(샬롯 갱스부르)를 중년의 남자 셀리그먼(스텔란 스카스가드)이 그녀를 구해 집으로 데리고 온다. 샐리그먼은 평범한 사람들이 상상할 수 없는 성적 경험을 한 여성 조의 이야기를 듣는다. 샐리그먼은 조의 남성 편력과 성적 체험을 편견 없이 경청한다. 그리고 자신의 문학적, 수학적, 음악적 지식을 동원하여 조의 이야기를 해석한다. 일찍 성에 눈을 뜨고 여성의 성을 실험한 조에게 샐리그먼은 날개가 있는데 날면 좀 어떠냐고 이야기한다. 셀리그먼은 그녀와의 대화 중에 자신의 내부 어딘가에서 뭔가 불이 켜지는 것이 느껴진다.
