서른이 된 아비는 엄마와 함께 단조로운 삶을 살고 있다. 회사에서도 잘리고 주변에서도 인정받지 못한 삶을 정리하고 스스로 미래를 개척하고자 행복캠프에 입소하게 된다. 이곳은 기술과 행복에 이상하리만치 열광적인 사람들에게 대단히 인기 있는 곳으로 빅데이터를 기반으로 해야 할 일을 정해주고 여자친구까지 매칭시켜주는 곳이다. 캠프에 입소한 아비는 고양이를 끔찍이도 아끼는 한 아주머니를 돌보라는 과업을 받게 된다. 그는 자신이 이용당하는 상황 속에서도 성실하게 맡은 바 역할을 수행한다. 하지만 시간이 흐를수록 뭔가가 잘못되어가고 있음을 깨닫게 된다.

2차 세계대전 중 호주 공군 비행 중위인 '짐'은 총에 맞아 나무에 걸린 채 깨어난다. 유일한 방어 수단인 권총을 잃어버렸다는 것을 깨달은 '짐'은 일본 순찰을 피하기 위해 위험한 싱가포르 정글을 헤맨다. 진흙과 늪, 그리고 일본 선전이 가득한 들판을 헤쳐나가던 중 중국 게릴라 전사 '셍'과 마주친다. 그들은 서로의 언어를 말할 수 없음에도 불구하고 함께 정글을 빠져나가기로 결심한다.

The boundary between viewer and art dissolves in Ho Tzu Nyen’s sublime work, The Cloud of Unknowing. Step inside and find a comfortable space in the room. On a screen, a narrative unfolds, set in a public housing complex in Singapore, where eight characters in eight apartments individually encounter a cloud, embodied both as a figure and a vaporous mist. The film is rear-projected and looped, integrating a complex soundtrack and synchronized steam machines to create a seamless and sublimely atmospheric sense of film/audience permeability. And in a family that prefers to forget, the sandcastles of all he holds dear seem doomed to be washed away by the tides of time.
