대학에서 문학을 전공한 시난은 교사로 취직하여 가계에 도움을 주기 위해 고향으로 돌아온다. 하지만 그가 정말 원하는 것은 그의 첫 소설을 출판하는 것. 출판을 위한 자금을 마련하고자 애쓰지만, 아버지 이드리스의 소소한 도박 때문에 가족은 빚 독촉과 생활고에 늘 시달리며 녹록지 않은 삶을 살고 있다. 그런 시난에게 아버지는 사랑과 미움의 대상이다. 세 시간이 넘는 상영 시간 동안 시난과 그의 주변 사람들, 그리고 그들이 나누는 끝없는 대화를 들려주는 는 이야기의 중심에 시난과 이드리스 두 부자를 병치시키며 위기의 남성성을 관찰한다. 짐짓 장황하게 들리는 대화들은 시간이 흐를수록 서로 꼬리를 물며 묘한 리듬을 자아내고, 그 속에서 시난은 때로는 애처롭고 때로는 밉살스럽게 등장한다. 자신의 언어가 가진 역능을 믿는 시난과, 물 한 방울 나오지 않는 우물을 묵묵히 파는 이드리스, 두 남자가 자아내는 긴장은 영화의 마지막, 묵직하고 강렬한 마법적인 순간을 향해 나아간다. 터키 북서부의 차낙칼레와 근교의 풍광은 언어로 전달되지 않는 어떤 심성을 시난의 이야기에 더해주는 또 하나의 캐릭터다. Omnibus of five short films that were shot in the Turkish province of Kars, on the border with Armenia. Among the five directors are three debutants who were chosen to film their stories after winning a scenario contest. The final result is a sympathetic collection of films that remain small and simple: the puppy love between a boy and a girl on their winter trip to school, the memories of a young woman about her mother's response to her first menstruation and bra, and the story of a student who returns to his village, but all too soon flees again for the past that is waiting for him there. The stories take place strikingly often around the cemetery and look at things from the past being revealed. The last contribution to the omnibus film is also significantly called ‘a small truth’.

The film is set in present-day Istanbul. Selim is a shop owner in his early forties. He sells clothing for men in his shop situated in one of the back streets of Istanbul. Selim is a family man who has devoted his life to his home and his work. He lives with his wife Ayla, his six-year-old daughter Esma and his old father in a simple flat in and old, modest neighbourhood. He has warm relations with his family. He is an affectionate father. One of his neighbours, a young widow named Nihal tries to seduce Selim, but her flirtation leaves him cold. Selim is known for his honesty and integrity among his family and friends. He is a careful spender. As a little child, he has learned that money is not easily earned. He has no tolerance for petty "trickery" met in daily life. One day, Selim finds a bag full of dollar bills (approximately 500,000$) in a cab. From that day on, Selim finds himself in a bewildered state with a bag full of money on his hands.

Serap, who has been living in the darkest streets of Beyoglu, is a charming woman in her 20s. A beautiful woman's way of prostitution and prostitution living in the back streets of Beyoglu as a person intersects with him when a magical love begins. Hakan tries to take the pimp of Serap as a madman. The man who doesn't have the job can't do it. One day when Serap finds his lover Hakan in a scene he never thought possible, his whole life is deeply shaken. Serap will now be in a different life, running for different purposes.
