'후폭풍'이라는 부제에 걸맞게 데드 스페이스의 스토리가 끝난 후의 내용을 다루고 있다. 데드 스페이스에서 박살나버린 레드 마커의 일부를 회수하기 위해 파견된 USG 오배넌호와 그 선원들이 겪은 이야기를 쓴 애니메이션. 이 참사로부터 살아남은 4명의 선원들의 회상이 주 줄거리이다. 또한 아이작도 등장한다.(!!)
