영국 동부 해안가에 사는 던컨과 애니는 15년차 커플이다. 1980년대 최고의 록스타였던 터커는 현재 미국의 한 시골 마을에서 은둔 생활을 한다. 터커의 열렬한 팬인 던컨은 터커의 어쿠스틱 데모 앨범인 《줄리엣, 네이키드》를 듣고 팬사이트에 호평을 올린다. 애니는 던컨과 정반대의 리뷰를 올린다. 터커는 애니가 쓴 리뷰를 읽고 애니와 이메일로 연락하고, 결국 서로 고민을 털어 놓는 사이가 된다.
