체스게임은 화이트 칼라의 정치적 스캔들과 부정 부패를 그린 액션 스릴러이다. 미나와 베쓰와 마토나는 리오 데 자이네로에 있는 탈라베라브루스 교도소에 수감되어 있다. 미나는 이 그룹의 두뇌라면 베타는 충동적이고 마토나는 단순한 행동대원이다. 미나는 교도소 안에서 자신의 여동생(언니)인 줄리안을 통해서 밀반입한 마약 및 각종 물건을 밀거래한다. 미나는 상원의원 프랑코와 연루된 사회보장 관계 사기혐의로 복역중인데프랑코는 아무래도 미나가 자신의 비리를 당국에 알릴 것만 같다. 미나는 없애기로 작정한 프랑코는 교도소 감독관에게 뇌물을 주어 살인을 교사한다. 하지만 강인하고 영리한 미나를 제거하려는 음모는 실패로 돌아간다.
