Michael Constantine (born Gus Efstratiou (Ευστρατίου); May 22, 1927 – August 31, 2021) was an American actor. He is most widely recognized for his portrayal of Kostas "Gus" Portokalos, the Windex bottle-toting Greek father of Toula Portokalos (Nia Vardalos), in the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002).
Earlier, he earned acclaim for his television work, especially as the long-suffering high school principal, Seymour Kaufman, on ABC's comedy-drama, Room 222, for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1970; he was again recognized by the Emmy Awards, as well as the Golden Globe Awards, the following year. After the conclusion of Room 222, Constantine portrayed night court magistrate Matthew J. Sirota on the 1976 sitcom Sirota's Court, receiving his second Golden Globe nomination. Constantine reprised his role as Gus Portokalos in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (2016).

변호사인 주인공 빌리는 어려운 사건을 맞게 되지만 일을 순조롭게 만들어 결국 승소하게 되고, 그 덕분에 그는 고객과 아주 친해진다. 빌리는 축하 파티가 끝나고 자신의 아내와 함께 집에 돌아오는 길에 교통 사고를 내는데 빌리는 그 사고로 한 집시 할머니를 죽이게 된다. 하지만 빌리는 다른 동료 변호사의 훌륭한 변호로 화를 면하게 되고 다시 정상 생활로 돌아 온다. 백킬로가 훨씬 넘는 빌리는 아내 등살에 다이어트를 시도해 보지만 별 효과가 없었다. 항상 넘치는 식욕때문에 살이 빠지지 않는 빌리에게 어느 날 집시 노인이 다가와 살이 빠지게 될 거라며 주문을 외워 주는데, 이와 비슷한 일이 빌리를 변호해 준 판사에게도 일어난다. 그후 빌리는 한없이 먹어대는 데도 계속해서 살이 빠지게 되고 판사는 이상한 피부병에 걸려 결국 자살하게 된다. 빌리는 차사고로 죽은 할머니가 집시 노인의 딸인 것을 알고는 이것은 바로 그 집시의 저주가 내린 것이라 믿게 된다. 한편 빌리의 아내는 점점 이상하게 변해가는 남편을 속여가며 다른 남자를 만나는데 그 사실을 눈치 챈 빌리는 괴로워 한다. 결국 빌리는 자신의 고객이었던 친구 덕분에 집시 노인의 저주를 풀게 되지만 집시 노인은 대신 다른 사람이 저주를 받아야 된다며, 다른 사람을 정할 수 있는 결정권을 빌리에게 준다. 빌리는 저주를 담은 파이를 들고 집으로 돌아 가서 아내에게 파이를 주지만 예기치 않게 그의 사랑하는 딸 마저 저주의 파이를 먹고 죽고 만다.

멤피스에 도착하자 분과 루시어스는 분이 평소 자주 들르는 윤락업소에서 하루 묵게 되고 분이 좋아하는 윤락업소 아가씨 ‘코리’를 위해 루시어스는 코리의 조카와 싸움을 하게 되는데, 자신을 위해 손까지 다친 루시어스에게 감동한 코리는 매춘을 그만두고 새 출발을 하기로 결심한다.
한편 네드는 귀하고 비싼 자동차를 경주마 한 마리와 바꾸고 이 경주마를 이용해 경마에서 이기면 자동차를 다시 되찾을 수 있다고 분을 설득한다. 11살짜리 소년 루시어스가 기수가 되어 말 경주에 참석한 이들은 어렵사리 우승을 하게 되고 차를 다시 찾아 고향마을로 돌아온다. 그리고 분은 코리와의 결혼을 결심하고 만약 그가 아들을 낳으면 이름을 루시어스라고 짓겠다고 말한다.
