옛날, 발리안테라는 나라에서 대규모 마녀사냥이 실행되었다. 하지만 그 실태는 사람들을 보호해온 마계기사와 마계법사들을 제거하여 실권을 장악하려는 것이며, 국왕의 측근 멘도사에 의한 쿠데타였다. 시간은 흘러, 한 소년 레온이 발리안테 왕국에 도착. 레온이야말로 잃어버린 오랜 전설의 마계기사 황금기사 가로의 칭호를 받아 이어가는 운명의 사람. 레온은 마녀사냥의 시기에 흘러 화형에 처해지면서 어머니에게 낳아진 불의 기억이 소리없이 조용히 불타고 있다. 그와 동시에 또 다른 한 사람, 결의를 품에 안은 소년 알폰소가 등장. 옛날 어머니와 같이 발리안테를 몰래 탈출해 유랑한 왕자인 알폰소는 멘도사로부터 나라를 빼앗으려 남은 희망인 빛의 기사를 찾아왔다. 운명에 놀림받은 2명의 기사가 숙명의 나라에서 만날 때, 이야기는 조용히 시작된다.

바다에 떠 있는 유리병 속에 꽃과 보석상자 등이 잔뜩 그려진 오마츠리섬의 지도와 ‘당신은 그랜드 라인을 항해하는 1억 명 중에서 뽑힌 행운의 해적입니다!’라는 편지가 함께 들어 있는 것을 발견한 밀짚모자 해적단. 당연히 오마츠리섬으로 방향을 틀고 그곳으로 향하는데 루피 일행이 도착한 오마츠리섬은 너무나도 평범한 섬이다. 루피 일행의 앞에 갑자기 등에 꽃을 피우고 있는 오마츠리 남작이 나타난다. 지옥의 시련을 견디면 보물을 주겠다고 제안하는 남작의 말에 루피는 선선히 수락하지만 기장천외한 캐릭터들의 이상한 공격으로 밀짚모자 해적단 일행들이 하나씩 사라지는 최악의 상황 속에 빠져들게 된다.

2012년 12월 도쿄. 해질녘까지 남아 이야기를 나누던 카미나 아야토와 미시마 하루카. 그들이 있는 교실에 편지를 손에 숨긴 아사히나 히로코가 들어온다. 하루카는 가족들과 만나 도쿄를 벗어난다. 그때, 기묘한 돔 형태의 반구가 나타나 도쿄를 뒤덮는다. 아야토의 상태가 걱정되는 하루카는 아야토의 이름을 부르짖지만 이미 도쿄는 격리되어버렸다. 그로부터 3년 후. 아야토는 그전과 아무런 차이없는 생활을 보내고 있었다. 도쿄밖의 세상은 모두 멸망했는다는 이야기와 함께 하루카의 존재조차 까맣게 잊어만 갔다. 그런 평온한 매일이 지속되던 중, 정체를 알 수없는 괴물체가 도쿄를 공격한다. 공격을 피하며 도망치던 아야토의 앞에 하루카의 환영이 나타난다. 환영에 이끌려 도착한 곳에는 시토 하루카라는 이름의 소녀가 있었다. 아야토가 또다른 하루카와 만난 그 순간, 세상은 예상치 못한 방향으로 움직이기 시작한다.

뉴욕에 출현한 거대한 디지몬이 '선택받은 아이들'을 알 수 없는 세계로 끌고 간다. 거대 디지몬의 정체를 알고 있는 듯한 소년 워레스와 함께 '서머 메모리'라는 곳으로 향하는 다이스케 일행. 디지털 월드에는 또 무슨 일이 벌어진 것일까? 갇힌 아이들은 다시 원래 세계로 돌아갈 수 있을까?

The first story focused on Tai and Kari Kamiya four years before their adventure in the Digital World. It shows their first encounter with Digimon and what happened to them (as well as the other children). Tai and Kari wake one morning to find a Digi-Egg that came out of their computer the night before and the egg soon hatches, revealing a Botamon. The Digimon then evolves into Koromon and then Agumon (not the same one that became friends with Tai in the series, and yet, somehow, both Koromon and Kari remember each other), who then goes out and unintentionally destroys a good part of the neighborhood with Kari riding on his back. A second Digi-Egg appears in the sky to reveal an evil digimon, Parrotmon. Agumon then Digivolves to Greymon but isn't strong enough to beat Parrotmon and is knocked out. Tai grabs Kari's whistle and wakes up Greymon, who defeats Parrotmon and disappears with him.

Kayoko is a young girl in 1940, just starting first grade. She's a bit of a crybaby, which is no secret to those around her. Her mother is pregnant, and so she looks forward to being a big sister, only partially understanding the responsibility that might bring. Meanwhile, the war effort is growing, and it`s only the natural thing to do to be patriotic and support the country...Kayoko goes so far as to contribute her favorite dolly, whose materials could help build explosives. Time passes, and as she grows older, Kayoko sees how the war has affected her life and those around her. Nothing can prepare her for 1945, however, and the bleak times that are soon to come.
