Andrew Garret is a cop trying to reveal the background of secret killing fights named "Game". He takes part in the fights under the nickname Gladiator. One of the Game bosses, Parmenion, wants him to fight with the ancient sword that once belonged to Alexander the Great against his own fighter Mongol to recall the 2000 years old duel between Alexander and his enemy whose re-incarnations he believes to be Andrew Garrett and himself.

Set in a post-nuclear-holocaust future, this sci-fi western takes place in the frontier city of New Hope, the only place around with a working oil refinery. Ever since a megalomaniac general and his followers took over the place, life has been miserable. Then a stranger, a man-of-few-words, comes to town. A quick-drawing gunslinger, he first joins the conquerors. In the year 2007, crime has risen at an exponential rate. Once highly populated metropolises such as Los Angeles are no longer inhabitable. A dying woman tells her son, Barry Griffith, she had been a surrogate mother for a millionaire, and that he is a twin to that baby. He seeks out his twin, Frank Bentley to get a bite of his inheritance, but he's not the first long-lost brother to call. Barry stakes out across the street from Frank's home so he can spy and release the story to a tabloid paper. In the process, he begins an affair with Frank's mistreated wife.
