도리엔은 성공한 남편, 사랑스러운 두 아이들 그리고 번창하는 수의사로서 행복의 모든 조건을 두루 갖추고 있다. 그러나 어느 날, 이 모든 것이 한꺼번에 무너져 내린다. 그녀는 어머니의 오랜 불륜에 대해 알게 되고, 남편은 직장 동료와 지나치게 가깝게 지내며 그녀의 가슴에서 멍울이 발견된다. 그녀는 대화를 나눌 상대가 절실하지만 아무도 들어주지 않는다. 과연 이것이 내가 꿈꾸던 삶이란 말인가? 도리엔은 뭔가 변화를 줘야겠다고 생각한다.
