죽어버린 절친의 첫사랑 소녀의 초상화를 들고 그림 속의 주인공을 찾아가서 무엇을 할 수 있을 것인가? 이 여행에서 극적인 무언가는 일어나지 않는다. 친구의 흔적을 찾다가 료칸에서 울면서 밥을 먹는 씬이 이전까지의 여행과정보다 훨씬 마음을 뭉클하게 한다. 이야기가 끝난 지점에서 에필로그처럼 붙여 놓은 뒷부분이 상당히 긴데, 이 부분에서의 시간 순서 무시한, 감정이 이끄는 대로 붙여놓은 편집이 참 개성적이다.
