남부 지방의 어느 유지가 사업을 위해 땅을 사들이려는 과정에서 여러 남녀들이 얽혀서 벌어지는 이야기를 그린 멜로 드라마. 마이클 케인과 제인 폰다의 공연이라는 것 외에는 평범한 영화다. 페이 다나웨이는 주인공들과 친척이며 땅을 조금 소유하고 있는 사나이의 아내 역.

A gold mine in Arizona, that was formerly losing a lot of money, suddenly turns into a veritable money-making machine.
