It is based on the true story of Michael Francke, who was the Head of Corrections for the state of Oregon before being murdered. Just before his murder, Francke visits his brother and informs him of a drug ring involving his prison colleagues. When Michael is killed, his brother begins his own investigation into the murder, leading him to more lies and deceit.

Substance-addicted Hollywood actress, Suzanne Vale is on the skids. After a spell at a detox centre her film company insists as a condition of continuing to employ her that she live with her mother, herself once a star and now a champion drinker. Such a set-up is bad news for Suzanne who has struggled for years to get out of her mother's shadow, and who still treats her like a child. Despite these and other problems, Suzanne begins to see the funny side of her situation, and also realises that not only do daughters have mothers—mothers do too.

국내에선 앞에 84를 빼고 '찰리 모픽'이란 제목으로 1990년 정우씨네마에서 비디오로 소개되었다. 1991년 11월호 영화월간지 로드쇼에서 꼽은 컬트 영화 100으로 선정되어 이걸 보고 비디오를 찾아본 경우도 많았다.
똑같이 베트남전을 소재로한 명작 풀 메탈 자켓도 국내 개봉할땐 앞에 풀을 빼고 '메탈 자켓'이라는 제목으로 개봉한걸 생각해보면 뭔가 묘한 우연인듯하다. 풀 메탈 자켓이 스테디캠을 사용해 현장감을 선보였다면, 84 찰리 모픽에 이르러 핸드헬드 영상으로 전쟁묘사에 한층 더 다가갔다. 이 작품 이 후 핸드헬드 기법으로 전쟁의 현장감을 정점으로 찍게된게 그 전설의 라이언 일병 구하기.
1969년 구정 공세 이후의 베트남, '84 찰리 모픽' 담당으로 파견된 주인공이 6명의 군인들을 따라가며 작전을 수행한다는 심플한 내용이다. 줄거리 보다는 현장감, 분위기에 많이 의존하는 작품으로 50분이 지나도록 전투한번 안일어난다든가 하는 식으로 연출했다.
하지만 소규모 상영으로 이뤄진 터라 흥행 수익은 15만 달러에 그쳤다. 감독인 던컨은 이후 홀랜드 오퍼스 같은 영화 공동 각본, 제작을 맡기도 했고 덴젤 워싱턴 주연 영화인 커리지 언더 파이어 각본을 맡았으며 엘비스 프레슬리를 다룬 TV영화 엘비스(2005)를 연출하기도 했다.
Soundman
Teeny bopper rock star Bart Holton is pushed around by his manager for maximum profit and longs for a normal life. Through a look-alike contest he meets Matt, a student who looks exactly like him and can imitate his dancing style perfectly. Bart proposes to switch roles for a week. At first Matt enjoys being chased by hysterical groupies and Bart enjoys hitting on the highschool girls, but of course both learn quickly that the other's life is quite different from what they'd expected.
