어릴 적 백중날의 트라우마에 시달리는 보니는 소식이 끊긴 삼촌의 환영을 보게된다. 고향 집을 방문한 그녀는 삼촌의 죽음을 알게되고, 임종을 지키지 못한 것으로 아버지와 다투게된다. 그 후 마을을 떠나려하지만 코로나19 봉쇄로 가족이 운영하던 낡은 카페에 머물게 되는데, 그곳에서 백중날을 맞아 돌아오는 친척들의 혼을 마주한다.

Only after an ambitious property agent, Charlie, joins a successful agency run by a rich couple, Gordon and Lucy, did he realise the horrific secret behind the company's success. They make a high profit by buying properties for cheap after someone has died or been murdered there and then selling them back with exorbitant prices without mentioning the truth to the buyers. Charlie is caught in an ethical dilemma where he continues on selling these properties but is constantly haunted by the supernatural beings there.

Local filmmaker Woo Ming Jin and his crew traversed across Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore to find 'Seruan Merdeka' (1947) - the first film made in Malaya post-WWII, and also the first film in the history of Malaysian cinema to feature a biracial cast of Malays and Chinese. While tracking the film's whereabouts, Woo met many locals along the way, whom he interviewed in an effort to find out more about the country's history.
