맥라렌 모터 레이싱 팀을 창립한 브루스 맥라렌. 레이서로서 한 시대를 풍미했던 브루스 맥라렌은 뉴질랜드 오클랜드에서 정비사이자 레이서였던 필 맥라렌의 아들로 태어났다. 아버지가 워낙 자동차 경주에 열정적이었던 만큼 브루스도 자연스럽게 자동차 경주에 관심을 쏟게 되었고, 드디어 1952년 아버지가 사 준 1929년형 오스틴 세븐으로 처음 레이싱을 시작했다. 이 때만 해도 그가 몇 년 후 F1을 휩쓸 인물이 되리라고는 그 누구도 짐작하지 못했다. 1955년 오스틴 세븐을 팔고 오스틴 힐리 100을 구입하여 1956년 뉴질랜드 그랑프리에 정식으로 발을 내딛게 된다.

Out on a dead calm ocean, in a thick fog, a group of tourists on a pleasure craft are about to cross paths with an ancient and terrible evil.
