8월의 달을 위한 다섯 개의 인형은 너무 많은 것을 아는 여자와 함께 마리오 바바를 대표하는 스릴러다. 아가사 크리스티의 걸작 추리 소설 (국내 제목 '그리고 아무도 없었다')이 원작으로, 등장인물의 수는 줄었지만 내용은 크게 다르지 않다. 배가 아니면 접근이 힘든 해변의 저택에 모인 6인의 남녀가 보이지 않는 살인마에 의해 하나둘 살해당하고 최종적으로 한 명만이 살아남는 것. 에서 지알로 장르를 창조한 마리오 바바는 이 영화에서도 예의 그 장기를 유감없이 발휘한다. 붉은 색을 주조로 한 원색의 저택 인테리어, 여성의 육체를 노골적으로 탐하는 카메라 운용, 핏빛 스타일이라고 해도 좋을 잔인무도한 살해 장면까지, 특히 시체들이 고깃덩이와 함께 냉동고에 대롱대롱 매달린 장면은 희생자의 고통을 즐기려는 듯한 마리오 바바의 악취미적 연출이 절로 묻어난다. 의 악당 리더를 연기한 모리스 폴리가 살해당하는 남자 중 한 명으로 출연한다. "Andremo in città" (We'll Go to the City) is a 1966 Italian drama film directed by Nelo Risi. It is based on the novel of the same name by Edith Bruck, Risi's wife. Bruck, a Hungarian concentration camp-survivor, settled in Italy after the Second World War and wrote about her experiences in autobiographical and fictional formats.[1] The film stars Geraldine Chaplin and Nino Castelnuovo.
