크리스마스 시즌. 조이(올리비아 하버맨)는 양부모들에게 학대를 받으며 생활하던 중 크램푸스가 나타나 양부모를 불태우는 일이 생긴다. 경찰은 재가 되어버린 양부모의 사망원인을 조사하려 하지만, 유일한 단서는 조이 뿐이다. 조이를 조사하기 위해 경찰은 아동심리 전문가 레이첼(모니카 엔게서)의 도움을 받으려 하지만 조이는 크램푸스 이야기만 한다. 조이에게서 단서를 찾던 중 레이첼은 조이가 20여년 전에도 입양당했던 기록이 있는 것을 발견하게된다. 믿을 수 없는 사실에 당시의 현장을 찾아간 레이첼. 더 놀라운 사실은 조이가 그때와 조금도 변한 것이 없단 것을 알게 되는데...
