2014년 일리노이 주 크레스트윅, 줄리아와 그녀의 딸 샬럿은 새 집으로 이사를 간다. 새 집으로 이사를 간 후부터 샬럿의 상태가 하루하루 나빠지고 해괴한 일들이 계속 일어난다. 줄리아는 이사당일 자동차 접촉사고로 친분을 쌓게 된 제러미 밀러 의사와 대화도중 매디라는 환자를 알게 되고 우연찮게 신부님을 통해 매디가 그의 딸이라는 것과 이사 온 집이 그가 전에 살던 집이라는 사실을 알게 된다. 제러미 밀러 의사의 딸 매디가 악령에 씌웠었다는 얘기와 그의 아내 올리비아가 자살했다는 얘기를 듣고 줄리아는 충격에 휩싸인다. 위험에 처한 줄리아 모녀를 구해줘야겠다는 생각이 든 신부님은 제러미를 찾아가 도움을 요청한다. 하지만 제러미 밀러는 그의 얘기를 믿지 않고 그의 부탁마저도 탐탁지 않아 한다. 그 후 제러미 밀러는 신부님의 말이 계속 떠올라 샬럿의 집에 찾아가는데 그 날 샬럿의 몸에 있는 악령을 보게 되고 샬럿의 상태가 병에 걸려 죽게 된 자신의 딸 매디와 상태가 일치한다는 것을 깨닫게 되는데...

This film is about a ten year old girl, Edda, who is taking part, for the first time, in the famous Icelandic horse tournament at Hella. Together with her girlfriend, the two children travel on horseback over mountains and rivers to reach Hella, some 100 km South of Reykjavík. After a two day journey they reach their destination where over 5,000 people have gathered for the tournament. Edda has been practicing her riding for over a year and now the big day has finally come.

The smugglers, who come from Europe and the United States of America, steal the eggs of the arctic gerfalcon and transport them in private planes to Germany. The young birds are then sold for $50,000 each, usually to wealthy Arabs. The white falcon is the biggest and strongest falcon in the world; tragically most of them die when exposed to the heat of the desert. The film investigates the methods of the smugglers and shows interviews with falcon dealers, policemen, animal protectors in Europe and America and includes authentic shots from a "falconbust" in Cologne, Germany.
