Yang Hsiu Shan was grown up in Hong Kong and her folks were emigrated to Canada. She felt in love with her boss, Chen Kai Ping, and in order to set up her business. So she decided to stay in Hong Kong. Yang's sister-in-law, Luk Ping Ting, was emigrated from China and was living in her house. Both Yang and her room-mate, Chan Pei Lien, an air hostess, were taken care of her. In the meantime, Chen's daughter, Fong, came from Taiwan to visit him. A career criminal, Ah Sang, engineers a bank robbery to be carried out by a gang of recruited hoodlums led by himself. It takes only three minutes to complete the robbery of seven million dollars. A special police unit is then formed to investigate the case, and the chief inspector suspects Sang, and begins keeping him under surveillance. 한적한 산길 물건을 운반하던 보표가 복면을 한 일당들에게 습격을 받는다. 그때 우연히 길을 가던 명우(왕우)는 보표들을 도와주지만 복면을 한 사람에게 표창을 맞고 쓰러진다. 그때 강호 기협으로 불리는 붉은 옷의 홍 부인(능파)이 나타나 명우를 치료 해준다. 상처가 나은 명우는 홍부인에게 고마움을 표시하고, 무참히 학살을 당한 부모님의 복수를 할 것이라고 한다. 자신의 남은 가족은 학살 당시 출타 중이던 고모뿐이라고 하고 자신은 사부의 의해 겨우 살아남았다고 한다. 그러나 자신은 당시 너무 어려서 누가 원수인지 조차 모른다고 한다. 그 이야기를 들은 홍부인은 무척 놀란다. 명우는 어려서 이미 결혼 언약이 되어 있는 연주(진평)의 집인 진가로 간다며 인사를 하고 떠난다. 진가에 도착한 명우는 일가에 따뜻한 환영을 받지만, 진가의 남자들은 그를 의심의 눈초리로 본다. 실은 진가 가문은 예로부터 정의를 수호하는 강호의 명가였고, 사악한 사파 홍련파로 부터 물건을 되찾아 원주인에게 되돌려 주려고 산적으로 변장하여 공격을 한 것이다. 그때 마침 진가로 찾아오는 명우를 만나게 된다. 명우는 산적의 습격을 받는 보표를 도와준다고 덤빈 행동이 진가 남자들에게는 그가 홍련파가 아닌가 하는 의심을 사게 된 것이다. 그러나 진가의 수장인 할머니의 강권으로 연주와 결혼이 예정 되로 진행된다. 한편 연주를 남몰래 흠모했던 두(나열)는 명우를 감시한다. 진가에는 예로부터 내려오는 규정이 있는데 진가의 무술을 배운 사람은 절대 진가를 떠나지 못한다는 것이다. 진가의 표창과 자신이 맞은 표창이 같은 것을 알아낸 명우는 연주에게 함께 진가를 떠나자고 부탁을 한다. 명우는 진가의 남자들이 도적질을 한다고 연주에게 말을 하지만 도리어 질타를 당한다.

A member of the Red Peony troupe, singer Tang Pei Hua (Yeh Feng) is renowned for her beautiful voice and appearances. Her beauty, however, invites the unwanted attentions of cruel and lecherous warlord Cao Lin (Zeng Mei). The Ching Dynasty novel The Dream of The Red Chamber is not only the most widely read, but also the most filmed book in Chinese history. The sprawling love story has proven a challenge to many filmmakers, but this version is acclaimed as the most successful. A sumptuous feature which took three years of planning and another for production, it was a hugely popular and critical hit which still stands out as a classic of both 18th century literature and 1960s moviemaking.

Perhaps the most notorious concubine in Chinese history, Yang Guifei set a pudgy standard of beauty in her days of glory during the Tang dynasty. The Emperor Minghuang was so besotted with the woman that when An Lushan stages his rebellion against the empire, the ruler takes Yang Guifei along with his imperial entourage in an escape to the mountainous area of modern-day Sichuan, and sanctuary of sorts. But the concubine had roused the jealousy of the court and unfortunately for her and to the great sorrow of the king, her brother and others among the king's retainers demanded she be strangled to death while they were still in the mountains. This is the story told in this interesting Taiwanese adaptation by director Li Han-hsiang (Li Hanxiang).

This is a musical about a young emperor who is lured via stories told to a place called Kiang-Nan by his royal tutor. The empress mother has the tutor go to Kiang-Nan to bring him back.
