마르쿠스는 성공한 30대 청년 건축가로, 여가 시간에는 주로 사진을 찍는데, 그 피사체는 소년들이다. 그러던 어느 날 그의 옆집에 제시카와 그의 여덟 살짜리 아들 아투르가 이사를 오게 되고, 마르쿠스는 아투르에게 끌리는 자신의 욕망을 억누르기 위해 분투한다. 하지만 아투르에 대한 마음이 커질수록, 그에게는 점점 더 큰 위기가 찾아온다.

Two boys from different worlds. Of all possible times, the start of summer vacation is when 10-year-old Jona has to move away from Berlin to the German-Czech border with his mother and new stepfather. He's lonely and angry as he inspects his new surroundings. Across the border, he meets Miro, a 13-year-old Ukrainian boy. Jona is fascinated by the confident but taciturn boy, only slowly discovering the fate that's hidden behind Miro's grown-up façade.

"Village of the forgetful" (original title: "Das Dorf der Vergesslichen") tells the story of European Alzheimer's disease patients who are being taken care of by natives in a small village in Thailand. The movie illustrates the intercultural encounter of its' protagonists within the traditional thai village athmosphere in a tragicomical way. "Village of the forgetful" is the first feature-length documentary of director Madeleine Dallmeyer.
