정신 질환이 있고 심장도 안 좋은 70세 흑인 노인 케네스 챔버레인은 잠결에 실수로 의료 경보 기기를 작동시킨다. 의료 경보 회사의 출동 요청으로 경찰이 케네스의 문 앞에 도착하지만, 경찰과 관련된 안 좋은 기억이 있는 케네스는 자신은 괜찮으니 집에 들어와서 몸 상태를 확인할 필요 없다고 한다. 하지만 경찰은 계속 문을 열어 주길 거부하는 케네스를 의심하기 시작하고, 결국 각종 장비를 동원해서 문을 부수고는 케네스와 실랑이를 벌이다가 케네스를 쏴 죽이고 만다.
