특유의 유머와 제스쳐로 사람들에게 웃음을 선사하는 웨인(Wayne Campbell: 마이크 마이어스 분)과 가스(Garth Algar: 다나 카비 분). 그들은 유선방송을 통해 방영되고 있는 심야 코믹 토크쇼 '웨인즈 월드'를 함께 진행하고 있는 절친한 친구 사이이다. 1편에서 성인이 되어서도 자립하지 못하고 부모와 함께 살아야 하는 자신들의 상황을 한탄하던 두 사람은 드디어 분가에 성공하고, 웨인은 여전히 헤비메탈 여가수 카산드라(Cassandra: 티아 카레리 분)와 사귀고 있다. 그러나 바비 칸(Bobby: 크리스토퍼 월켄 분)이라는 재력있는 음반 제작자가 등장하며 둘 사이에 균열이 생기기 시작한다. 시간이 흐를 수록 카산드라는 더욱 성숙한 음악세계를 선보이고 결국 바비 칸의 지원하에 앨범 제작까지 하게된다. 그의 출현에 웨인은 점차 자신감을 잃게 되고, 설상가상으로 바비의 결혼작전에 휘말려 카산드라에게 결별을 선언한다. 그러나 날이 갈수록 카산드라에 대한 그리움이 짙어만 가는데...

The stage is set for a series of confrontations when photographer Mark Jefferson (Tom Eplin) agrees to help his friend Roger (John Mayall) defend his night club against a handful of organized crime figures. But the gangsters are willing to use mayhem and murder in order to take over Roger's business. It appears that the petty mobsters are out to sell illegal weapons to anyone who wants them, especially L.A.'s youth, instead of using the club as a front for a prostitution ring as Roger suspects. Soon Mark and his trusty motorcycle have their work cut out for them.
