Two policemen are stationed on Amrum, a North Sea island on the West coast of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany’ – an elder, and one who is several decades his junior. Life is easy, just that the junior can’t find a wife, because no young woman seems to be interested in the peaceful life on the island. All of a sudden, a wounded lady who turns out to be one of two bodyguard for a threatened witness who lives in hiding on Amrum, bursts into the police station and seeks help from the two officers. I missed some bits of the plot, but somehow, the second one of the bodyguards hiding the witness on the island has been killed already, and the second one, seeking help from the local police, was wounded in the incidence, and then she apparently succumbs, too.

In this sun soaked adventure for the entire family, a group of five orphaned children form their own makeshift family while attempting to operate outside the rules of society. Though they must sometimes steal to survive, their loyalty to one another means that they will always have a brother or sister to count on.

어느날 갑자기… 속세로 내몰린(?) 세 명의 수도사… 교회로부터 파문 당하고 단 2개의 수도원만이 명맥을 유지하고 ‘칸토리안교단’. 그 중 하나인 독일 ‘아우스부르크 수도원’에는 각자 뚜렷한 개성으로 무장하고 있는 4명의 수도사가 있다. 고지식하고 세상물정 모르는 원장신부, 젊었을 때 놀아본 경력이 있으나 현재는 높은 학구열로 무장한 ‘벤노’, 확고부동의 세가지 유머로 단단히 무장한 시골 농부 스타일의 ‘타실로’, 그리고 아기 때부터 수도원에서 자란 순수한 미소년 ‘아르보’가 그들이다. 그러나 후원자가 후원을 거부하고, 원장신부의 갑작스런 사망으로 평화롭던 수도원은 위기에 봉착하게 되고, 3명의 수도사들은 원장신부의 유언에 따라 교단의 보물인 규범집을 들고 이탈리아의 ‘칸토리안 수도원’을 향해 험난한 여정을 시작한다. 오랫동안 속세와는 담을 쌓고 살아온 순진무구한 수도사들에게 세상 밖으로의 여행은 그리 만만한 것이 아니다.

1999년 어느 가을. 독일 사업가가 헝가리의 한 레스토랑을 찾는다. 작지만 고급스런 레스토랑. 그는 추억이 깃 든 시선으로 그곳을 살펴본다. 그리고 말한다. "그 노래를 연주해주게." 그러나 음악이 흐르기 시작한 순간, 그는 피아노 위에 놓인 한 여자의 사진을 발견하고선 갑자기 가슴을 쥐어뜯으며 쓰러진다. 놀라는 사람들. 그때 누군가가 외친다. "이 노래의 저주를 받은 거야. 글루미 썬데이의 저주를..." 60년 전. 오랜 꿈이던 레스토랑을 경영하는 자보(조아킴 크롤 분). 그의 사랑스러운 연인, 일로나(에리카 마로잔 분). 레스토랑에서 연주할 피아니스트를 구하려는 그들에게 한 남자가 찾아왔다. 강렬한 눈동자의 안드라스(스테파노 디오니시 분). 그의 연주에는 특별한 매력이 있다. 결국 자보와 일로나는 안드라스를 고용하게 되고... 일로나의 생일. 자신이 작곡한 ‘글루미 썬데이’를 연주하는 안드라스. 일로나는 안드라스에 대한 사랑을 확인한다. 그날 저녁 독일인 손님 한스(벤 베커 분)가 일로나에게 청혼하지만, 구혼을 거절하는 일로나. ‘글루미 썬데이’의 멜로디를 되뇌며 한스는 강에 몸을 던지고 그런 그를 자보가 구한다. 다음날, 안드라스와 밤을 보내고 온 일로나에게 말하는 자보. "당신을 잃느니 반쪽이라도 갖겠어." 자보와 안드라스, 일로나... 이렇게 셋은 이제부터 특별한 사랑을 시작한다. 한편 우연히 레스토랑을 방문한 빈의 음반 관계자가 ‘글루미 썬데이’의 음반제작을 제의한다. 음반은 빅히트를 하게되고, 레스토랑 역시 나날이 번창한다. 그러나 ‘글루미 썬데이’를 듣고 자살하는 사람들이 속출하자 안드라스는 죄책감에 괴로워한다. 그런 그를 위로하는 일로나와 자보... 하지만 그들도 어느새 불길한 느낌에 빠지게 되는데...

독일의 한 교도소에서는 사회적응 프로그램 일환으로 죄수와 여자들간의 만남을 주선하여 휴가를 주기로 한다. 위험 천만한 2인 1조의 전차 경기에서 해운의 승리를 거둔 슈타인보크(Steinbock: 틸 슈바이거 분)와 게르하르트(Hammer-Gerd: 데틀레프 부크 분)는 여자들과 만날 기회를 잡게 되고, 면회를 온 삼촌으로부터 슈타인보크는 자신이 있는 약로원에서 간호사로 일하는 에밀리아(Emilia Bauer: 마리 버이머)라는 여자를 소개시켜 주겠다는 약속을 받게 되고 그녀에게 편지를 쓴다. 서로에게 마음이 끌리면서도 자존심 싸움만 벌이던 에밀리아와 슈타인보크는 게르하르트가 되돌아간 그날 밤 닭장속에서 격정적이고도 로맨틱한 하룻밤을 보내지만 다음날 아침 "가장 좋을 때 헤어지는 거예요."라는 말을 하고 에밀리아는 슈타인보크를 감옥으로 되돌려 보내지만...

Die Brüder Kipp (Joachim Król) und Most (Horst Krause) machen sich auf den Weg, um das Gut ihrer Oma zu erben. Auf diesem Weg begegnen sie Viktor (Konstantin Kotljarov), einem desertierten russischen Soldaten, der die beiden kidnappt und Nadine (Sophie Rois), die sich ihnen freiwillig anschließt. Zwischendurch gibt es noch einen Zusammenstoß mit Straßenrowdies, was diesen allerdings nicht gerade gut bekommt. Auf ihrem Weg zum Erbe (oder was davon übrig bleibt) geraten die Protagonisten in manche scheinbar ausweglose Situation.

After his training as a policeman, the young, shy Köppe is transferred to a northern German town. Unfortunately, in an area where fox and rabbit say goodnight, there is little for a lawman to do. So Köppe kills time with the search for mysterious cow murderers, flirting with two attractive women and befriending a likeable petty crook.
