2041 - The west of Japan was destroyed in an earthquake. In between the slums within the rubble autonomous areas form with their own currency and administration. In the third communal district, known as Slum-Polis, criminals terrorize the poor population. In the daily struggle for survival the three friends Asu, Joe and the young prostitute Anna search for a little bit of security, but ultimately their strong bond is put to trial.
Kazuya goes to live with his mother Shinobu because his father, Yoshiki, who works in the same company, has fired him according to the company policy regarding redundancy. However, Shinobu soon gets remarried to Sakamoto depriving Kazuya of a place to stay. He then meets Sachiko who works in a salon where sexual pleasure is offered to men. They promise to have a date on the next Sunday by the sea.
Innkeeper
Tsuboi and Kinoshita have just arrived at a desolate town. Both of them are amateur filmmakers. Tsuboi is a screenwriter and Kinoshita a director. They have come to this town because Funaki, an actor, has tempted them to come here, but he has yet to arrive. Tsuboi and Kinoshita start wandering around the town and happen to meet a young woman, Atsuko. The three of them go on a journey together and become friends. But one day, Atsuko disappears.
