한 무리의 독일 군사들이 영국군 포로들을 이끌고 토부룩으로 향하고 있다. 그런데 그들의 앞길에 갑작스레 차한대가 나타나면서 무리는 긴장한다. 차를 쫓아가보니 그 곳에는 시체 몇구와 심하게 부상을 당한 듯 보이는 영국의 장교가 타고 있었다. 포로인 영국군 의사 타킹턴은 그를 치료하던 중 그가 꾀병을 부리고 있다는 사실을 알아낸다. 사실 그는 영국 8군 정보 기관의 포스터 대령으로 포로가 된 척 하고 토부룩으로 향하는 이들과 함께 합세하려는 속셈이었다. 영국군 포로들은 그의 지휘 아래 곧 독일 군인들을 제압하고 트럭과 통행증 등을 모두 빼앗고 자신들의 목적지로 향한다. 그들의 목표는 토부룩의 해안으로 상륙작전을 꾀하려 하는 해군들을 돕기 위해 토부록에 있는 대포와 무기들을 모두 무용지물로 만들고자 하는데 있었다. 그들은 완벽한 작전과 몇 번의 행운으로 무사히 토부룩에 도착한다. 이 곳은 유명한 장군 롬멜이 지키고 있는 곳이라 방어책이 만만치 않은 곳이다. 하지만 이들은 우여곡절 끝에 벙커와 대포들, 탱크에 들어가는 원료가 있는 보관소 등을 모두 폭파시키는 데 성공한다. 곧 롬멜 장군과 함께 독일군이 들이닥치지만 이미 너무 늦은 상태. 이 승리를 비롯하여 영국군은 그 때부터 전쟁에서 승세를 잡아가기 시작한다.

She played Helen Wyatt, whose father (the rotund Guy Kibbee) loses his ranch to the hayseed singing group the Hoosier Hot Shots. Unbeknownst to Wyatt, the Hot Shots have been swindled by a couple of Eastern crooks (Ian Keith and Matt Willis) and consider themselves the lawful owners. Chased by the irascible Wyatt, the band members seek protection from aspiring singer Curt Stanton (Curtis), who they mistake for a gunslinger.

Rotund Guy Kibbee is Dusty Nelson, the handyman at the Bar B dude ranch, whose daughter Susan is arriving with her socialite fiancee, Jerome Winston. Susan believes her father owns the ranch, and to spare Dusty any embarrassment, the Hot Shots, ranch manager Curt Durant and sidekick Big Boy Stover agree to continue the deception.

A third boy reports Loddy to the authorities, and when Loddy tries to run away, he falls into a deep ravine.
