Illale Devatha (transl. Wife is a Goddess) is a 1985 Telugu-language drama film, produced by N. R. Anuradha Devi under the Lakshmi Films Combines banner and directed by Tatineni Prasad. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Raadhika, Bhanupriya and music composed by Chakravarthy. The film is a remake of Singeetam Srinivasa Rao's debut Kannada film Haalu Jenu (1982).

Produced by G.D.Prasad Rao and Korada Suryanarayana under the banner of Sri Dasarathy and Chalam Bombayns, the film was directed by B.V.Prasad. Chalam, M.Prabhakara Reddy and Thyagaraju are the main cast of the film and Chellapilla Sathyam has composed the music.

Raghu (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) a notorious criminal released from jail after completing his imprisonment as a changed person and challenges the Inspector Murthy (Gummadi) that he is going to live as an honest person and prove himself in the society. During Kumar’s childhood, an unfortunate incident happens in the house and as a result, Rama Rao commits suicide. Kumar witnesses this horrific incident and it impacts him very badly. Because of this Kumar turns to become a psycho. Jagadeeshwari sends her son for treatment under a popular psychiatrist (Gummadi) in a different town. To the society, she tells as if her son is studying in a boarding school.

The life of 2 friends suguna (Savitri) and chandram (Nageshwara Rao) is potrayed as they and people around them swing between happiness and misery ( denoted as light and shadow).

Bhaskar (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) and Vasanti (B. Saroja Devi) are college mates who clash when she complains to the college principal about a love letter he sent her. Later on realizing her mistake, Vasanti apologizes to him and the two fall in love. Vasanti's elder sister, Geeta (Krishna Kumari), supports the family by stitching clothes.Bhaskar rents the room upstairs in their house. He falls ill and in nursing him, Geeta falls in love with him. She confides her love to Vasanti, who decides to sacrifice her love for her the sake of her sister and convinces Bhaskar to marry Geeta. Bhaskar initially neglects Geeta. On finding out, Vasanti writes to him that their sacrifice, made for Geeta's happiness, would mean nothing unless he is a good husband to Geeta. Bhaskar relents and Geeta and he have a son. Vasanti joins them and Geeta suspects that there is something on between Bhaskar and Vasanti and makes Vasanti leave the house.

Manjal Mahimai (English: Power of Turmeric) is a 1959 Tamil language drama film, produced by D. Madhusudhana Rao under Annapurna Pictures and directed by Adurthi Subba Rao. Starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Savitri in the laed roles and music composed by Master Venu. The film is based on Aasapoorna Devi's Bengali novel Agni Pariksha which was first remade as Telugu movie Mangalya Balam (1958); both the movies are made simultaneously by same banner & director and some of the scenes & artists are same in both versions. It was later remade as Hindi movie Chhoti Si Mulaqat (1967) with slight changes, starring Uttam Kumar, Vyjayanthimala in pivotal roles

Lawyer Ganapathi and his wife Annapurna are the eldest members of a family. His brother Subbu and his wife Anusuya live in the village. The duo treats their cousin brother Gopu, who is an idealist, as their own sibling. Annapurna is a chronic patient so Gopu's wife Susheela takes care of the family. Jealous of the bonding between Annapurna and Susheela, Anusuya creates a rift between them. Gopu and Susheela move to the village. Gopu propounds cooperative farming and prospers.

After her death, he married Rajeswari (Santha Kumari) and the couple has a son Nagendra Rao / Naagu (Jaggaiah) a man of vices. Impressed by the way Padma (Savitri) a village girl faced Naagu when he threatened to take their farm lands, the Zamindar fixes Naagu’s marriage with her. But Rajeswari vetoes the alliance and suggests to perform her marriage with Raghu. After marriage, Padma learns that Raghu became a retard due to the opium-fed during his childhood to put him to sleep by the maid, Ayamma (Vijayalakshmi).
