From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Daniel Magder (born December 12, 1991) is a Canadian Teen actor. He has appeared in such projects such as The Famous Jett Jackson, and X-Men. One of his most recent roles is on Life with Derek, where he portrays Edwin Venturi. He graduated Thornlea Secondary School in Thornhill, Ontario. After attending the University of British Columbia for his first year, he now attends the Vancouver Film School's writing for film and television course. 주인공 매튜는 어머니의 재혼으로 인해 원치 않는 전학을 가게 된다. 항상 자신을 아이로 보는 어머니에 반발하는 매튜는 두꺼운 뿔테안경에 정장을 입고 등교한다. 완전한 모범생의 모습을 하고 있는 그의 유일한 관심은 권투. 특히 전 프로레스링 선수였던 할아버지는 매튜의 우상이다. 어느 날, 학교에서 사귄 친구가 자신의 서클에 들기 위해서는 테레사라는 여자아이에게 데이트를 신청해야한다는 말에 매튜는 그녀에게 다가간다. 하지만 알고 보니 학교에서도 힘이 센 헥터라는 남자아이의 여자친구였다. 결국 그 뒤로 헥터에게 괴롭힘을 당하게 된 매튜는 학교 청소부 댄으로부터 권투클럽이 있다는 이야기를 듣고 그 곳으로 향한다. 하지만 클럽에는 헥터가 있었고 첫 스파링에서 처참하게 지게 된다. 그 모습을 지켜보던 청소부 댄은 매튜에게 다가가 자신이 권투를 가르쳐 주겠다고 한다. 댄은 부상으로 인해 은퇴할 수 밖에 없었던 선수로 이 사실을 알게 된 매튜는 기꺼이 그에게서 권투를 배운다. 이를 탐탁치 않게 생각하던 권투클럽 감독은 댄을 통해 매튜에게 권투를 그만두게 하려 하지만 댄은 오히려 정정당당하게 헥터와 매튜가 경기할 수 있도록 한다. 하지만 경기에 나가려면 부모님의 동의서가 필요했고, 어머니와 사이가 좋지 않았던 매튜는 결국 자신이 사인하게 되는데…
